My cat was a stray we took him in a few months ago, took him to the vet they said he was a little older than we originally thought but hes healthy and fine... now all of a sudden the other day he begged for food as usual but when we put it down he basically sniffed it and thats that. now today i tried feeding him something else and he drank the juice/gravy but for some reason couldnt get the solid food down so now im wondering if there would be any way of blending him up some food such as a milkshake/smoothie something.. what do you all think?

Is it the same as a regular full size dog? A regular sized dog you are supposed to double the weight of the dog at 14 weeks and then you have the weight your dog is going to end up being as an adult.

My pup is 14 weeks and weighs 3.5 and is a maltese. Her dad is only like 4.5 and mom is 4 if that helps.

THANKS.

I'm an animal care student and I recently wrote to a local shire horse sanctuary asking for some work experience. The lady who rang we was lovely and I was really excited. Anyway, this morning I went along, really enthusiastic and dying o meet the horses. But the man who owns the place was a complete b*st*rd. At first I thought he was just a bit doddery or something but then I realised he was definatetly being rude, and not just that but a real bully. Another girl turned up who was new and he'd already mentioned he thought she took drugs- no evidence though, and he proceeded to point at her and make remarks right in front of her face. He said she had as much life in heras a dead duck. He shouted at you and criticised you when you didn't even do anything. He laughed at everything I said, and when he asked me about my course or posed a question and I answered he laughed at the reply and kept saying- 'what do you know about this/that...(implying I was stupid)' and he tutted and shouted at

If so, how effective is it, and how much? My little Yorkie and Springer Spaniel are escape artists, and they love to run down the street. I'm afraid that one day they're going to run away and never come back. I thought about a real fence, but I'm afraid they'll dig underneath it, and my community won't let me put sand bags underneath the fence. The invisible fence sseems like a good solution, but is it cost-effective, and most importantly, pet-effective?

My shih tzu is going in next week for his first ever teeth cleaning. He is 5 years old.

The vet clinic did pre-screening bloodwork and everything was normal. They will also do a physical the day of the procedure.

It is my understanding that they use general anesthesia. Is there anything I should do to help prepare him for this?

This is a serious question.

I would like to raise exotic animals. I don't mean keep them as a pet in my house and make them do tricks, I would like to adopt animals like bears, etc and raise them in environments close to natural. Not like a zoo, but on land that I own. How do you go about adopting a bear? Is it legal? What are the regulations?

I am not looking to start a debate about whether or not people should have exotic animals. I would like information on how the process works and the legal stuff involved.

My husband and I found a stray kitten who wandered into our yard the other night. Seeing how small & innocent he was, we let him stay on our front porch so he wouldn't run into the street and get hit by a car. The first day & night he was happy, playing with everything he could get his paws on & eating & drinking regularly. I went to work yesterday, and when I came home, he was laying beneath a christmas tree we had on our porch, & was looking up at me weakly. I picked him up, & he began crying. I figured he was just tired & wanted to sleep, so I put him back & forgot about it. Later that night, I found him sitting in a pot filled with potting soil (which he had pooped in) breathing heavily. His eyes were watery, and he had vomited and defecated everywhere. We took him inside, cleaned him up & tried to give him water, but he threw up again. All night, he suffered labored breathing & gagging, also yelled in his sleep. When we awoke he had died. How could a healthy cat die in 1
day?

I'm looking for a Grain-Free Cat Food that doesn't turn to dust.

I was originally feeding Wellness Kitten Health Dry Food (very satisfied / no dust) and when she was 1 year I wanted to switch her to a grain-free dry cat food. I switched her to Nature's Variety Instinct Dry Cat Food and I found it to be a very dusty food. I don't like the fact that the food you buy turns to dust. So I switched her food again to Wellness CORE Grain-Free Feline Diet and this turns out to be a dusty food also. So doing some more research I looked at Innova EVO Dry Cat Food and read some reviews saying that this was also a dusty food. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A DUSTLESS GRAIN-FREE DRY CAT FOOD?

Her main meals are canned cat food and she eats dry cat food as a snack through out the day.

I found a stray, halfway grown kitten on the street in October of 06. I took him in and made a house cat out of him. I've noticed things that he does that are really strange. For example, he follows me everywhere... room to room, always rubbing on me... STARING at me for long periods. That's probably pretty normal, but it gets stranger. When I take a shower, he comes in the bathroom with me and jumps up onto the side of the tub and peeks around the curtain and just stares. He's jumped in there while I was in the middle of a shower. He doesn't seem to be afraid of water.. just twitches his ears a little. Maybe he's just curious? The weirdest thing of all is this: He licks the inside of my flip flops. I've noticed him doing this on several occassions. He doesn't touch anyone else's things, only mine. Is there something on the shoe he is attracted to, or is it purely because they're my flip flops? I've never had a cat like this! Has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

I have a 5 month old Chihuahua with tons of energy! My little energizer bunny! She is 2 1/2 pounds and according to the vet, very healthy! I have a little collar with a little bell on it. Whenever I put the collar on, leaving 2 fingers in between, she still manages to somehow, hook her lower jaw under the bottom part of the collar and get it jammed to the back of her mouth, trying to get the collar off! I don't want her to injure her jaw or break any teeth! If I make it any tighter, I'm afraid the collar is going to be too tight, and choke her! Anyone have any ideas on how to stop her from doing this or any idea, on what else I can use as a collar with a bell, where she can't hook her jaw underneath it? I am very careful where I'm walking but as added security, I'd also like to hear where she is, at all times! Anyone else had this problem?
