If they have fresh water and shade they can live almost anywhere in the U.S. Heat is worse than cold for them. Someone said their coat cools them. That is not true, the coat regulates the body temperature. Don't clip the coat to keep them cooler in the summer. As for the cold they can take all but extreme temperatures with no problems. Just keep them well hydrated and fed and give them a good dog house.

I have 5 huskies and two of them are outside alot of the time and they love it. They go and play in snow. One of my dogs actually goes out and sleeps in the snow. But i wouldnt leave them out all the time. And make sure they have plenty of water and make sure it doesnt freeze. I dont leave my dogs out if it gets under like 20 degrees F but i'm sure they would be fine anyways. It also can depend on the dog too. If they are inside all the time their under coat will not grow in as thick so they will have less insulation but huskies are pretty good at adapting to temperature change.

Most of ours love the cold but I don't encourage them to stay out more than 1 hour if it is below freezing. They can live in the hotter climates but it does take extra care - ac, lots of water and preferably water (even a kiddie pool) to stand or play in. NONE of ours stay outside all the time.

Honestly I don't know, I have an 18 month old Siberrian Huskie, and He goes out in snow storms, I live in Wisconsin so we get a lot of them, and he stays out there for at least an hour and half to two hours just sitting...

I've personally seen a husky sleep in a snow bank, got up and shook off the snow and was ready to go!!

any....just keep them brushed, watered etc....like you would ANY dog. That thick under coat is also a cooling agent for them.
EDIT: Whoever thumbed down this is wrong. It's the truth!
