not often. beta fish without the filter are generally a month. the filter might prolong it by 15 days or so. Maybe a bit longer because it's so big. I never used a 10 gallon for bettas. the heater won't do anything and isn't really needed for bettas anyway. if anything, it's probably not good for them because I believe they are most comfortable in moderate temperature water, so just leaving the tank in a warm room should bring the temperature to room temperature, which is fine. also it would be a waste of electricity if it's not needed.

You really only need to change about 20% every couple weeks in any size tank. You might want to clean your glass, and do a quick gravel vac, and always be sure to add conditioner during water changes.

Once a month would probably be fine, since you only have the one fish. Every 2 weeks would be better!

My mom had two goldfish for like 15 yrs.. She would "clean" the tank with a special brush (no soap) and change 1/4 of the water every few months OR if the tank seemed "murky".... They lived for a long time..

Good luck

Maybe once a month, 20%, I don't know.
It all depends on the filter and the fish.
