That's perfectly normal kitten behaviour (biting, attacking legs, fingers, etc.)

Keep his claws trimmed back with nail clippers (at least twice/per week) and at least it won't hurt so much. Wear denim.

The only way to really cut down on the number of scratches *you* get, is if you get him another kitten (or adult cat that tolerates kittens) to play with.

We have a 13-week-old kitten, and he plays with the other adult cats, but he still likes to bite and claw me -- I guess I'm just used to normal kitten behaviour, because I think it's cute.

lol we got our kitty the same way .. he is a terror.. we bottle fed him the whole works like you did.. and he turned very agrresive, bits, attacks, the whole nine yards.. I know he is just being a kitty but we had kittied before that weren't this aggresive .. I googgled a lot about kitten care and I did read that if you had bottle fed your kitten they will have more behavioral problems than non bottle fed kittens. he only bits girlfriend now. The best thing to do is when they attack like that is to not give him any attention .. don't play with him. A kitten is just like a child if he notices that you don't pay him any attention when he is being mean he will change his agressive behavior.. a kitten is just trying to learn his hunting and stalking instincts.. I strated using a squirt gun on him and say NO real loud whewn he attacks .. now all I have to do is say no and he relates that to the squirt gun.. he'll grow out of it .. enjoy the kitty the grow up fast and become cats PS invest in a box of bandaids

What you're describing is typical kitten behavior. I suggest actively playing with him with toys. My cats love to have toys thrown in the air for them to chase. There are also toys that dangle by a string from the end of a stick that you can move and your kitty will go nuts. A flashlight beam or a laser pointer (avoid hitting the eyes) are also sources of amusement. Even a length of string or a shoelace dragged across the floor can entice a frenzied attack.

When your kitten nips or behaves agressively, say no in a firm slightly deeper voice. At the same time, gently move the kitten away from you. I tap my cat's noses when they bite - just with my index finger and about as hard a tap as you'd use on a keyboard and say no at the same time time. It seemed to work for me as none of my cats nip aggressively now.

Lots of kittens do this, it's totally normal. He just wants to "play". It may seem a little bit too aggressive, but he doesn't realize that. He's figuring himself out as he grows older and wants to roll around and be boisterous like he would if he had little siblings to play with. Get some of those wands that dangle the toy for the kitten... you can give him some serious play sessions without putting your own skin in danger of being bitten or scratched.

He should slowly begin to "attack" legs and arms less as he grows older and gets more used to himself and his life.

If you take a kitten away from mum and brothers too early, he doesn't learn how to socialise through play normally. You must get your kitten a companion, preferably one of his siblings or his mum, at least for 1-2 months, otherwise he will be aggressive and antisocial, without being mean. For him it is just a game. In the meantime, you must show that you don't like it, shout like you are in pain when he does it, refuse to play rough like he does, but never hit him back, because then he thinks you are taking part in the game too.

I have 3 kittens and they all do the same thing. Bite, scratch, and claw things. You just have to keep an eye on them, but they wont harm you in any way.

To be safe you might want to take the kitten to the vet, and get all of its shots.

Keep his claws clipped just so that when he does play around he does claw up your furniture or scratch you.

Just make sure that when you do take him to the vet make sure you get all of his shots. Just o be on the safe side.

You took him away from his mother too early. But that just sounds like normal kitten playing to me... he will grow out of it. Also, get him nutered when he is old enough!
