Obviously he's a beagle mix so don't say that but I've been trying to figure out what else. He looks like some other kind of hound, probably not something exotic like a poodle or anything... And he came from Kentucky and seems like he was probably a hunting dog. So any suggestions or websites that list different hounds would be awesome. He's a bit big for a beagle weighing in at 35 pounds and is like... 16 inches tall? Maybe a little more. And his chest and body is more square, his snout is longer, and he's got longer legs.

If you need any pictures with different views please let me know, although mostly I'm just looking for clues on where to look for his backround.

I found this cat on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4I7oFWCTPI
I played it while my cats were sitting around. it was hilarious the way they were looking at each other trying to figure who was doing it! One of my cats even started hissing and yowling too! Try it, it's hilarious!

For all of you people out there that work in vet clinics, grooming shops, training facilities, etc.....Do you ever try to dissuade or educate people about their big plans to breed their dogs? For example, do the vet techs out there nicely suggest that perhaps an owner get their dog OFA and CERF tested (at least) before breeding? I'm a vet tech and would definitely get a severe talking to from my boss if I did it. Just wondering what everyone else does?

I have a 55 gallon fish tank, with a dual bio-wheel filter, i stock the media tray with activated charcoal. My problem is that my Ph stays at 6.2. It never moves any other direction. I have one of those meters that watches the temp, ph, and amonia. The tank is about 6 months old. The fish dont seem to be bothered by the water ph. I know my water is def as hard as its gets. I keep good control of the amonia and nitrates and nitrites. I change my filter once a month. aswell as the Charcoal. I have some gouramis, platys, danios, 5 snails, a pleco and some small guppies. Should i worry about the ph or not. My mother in law said i maybe vacuum the gravel to much is that possible. I just like to keep the gravel debris and poop free as you guys all know. Some one please give me some advice. Yahoo answers has helped me keep my fish tank this good for this long. Thanks in advance and i hope everyone has a great holiday season.

Hello,
I have a 10 week old Lhasa Apso, he's a cutie. I went to the vet today and they had the hair around his eyes trimmed out... He now looks so different and I really liked the polar bear face. She told me that this way the dog will not get any infections and could see better. I've always seen lhasos with hair around his eyes and I haven't seen the show dogs ever have their hair trimmed. Is this ok? Will it grow back and is it true that it should be trimmed? Please help...
Thank you...

Ok, I just bought some tennis balls for the dogs at my local humane society and all the dogs there are big. I was just wondering if you think that they would easily tear them up.

Any thoughts?

I let may cat in last night. She had this huge hairball matted into her fur, and I cut it out (don't worry, I didn't cut into her skin, I always trim the hairballs out o her fur very carefully). Anyway, underneath the hairball was a big hole in her skin, about a inch around. it had a really bad smell, which I think means it's infected. I don't think it's going to heal by itself, and I'm really worried about my cat.

I know alot of you are going to tell me to take it to the vet, but I can't aford it. I'm only 14, and my parents have financial difficulties, especially around Christmas. I have about $40-$45 Canadian, and I'm hoping someone can tell me about some kind of ointmant or something I might b able to get in a local pet shop.I'll have to wait untill tommorow to get anything, so is thee anything I can put on her tonight that I might have around the house.Someone please help me, because I love my cat alot, and don't like seing her hurt like this.

Isn't this scary? Only 20 years ago, the pit bull was a beloved American mascot... thanks to "gangsta" culture, most people associate pit bulls with thugs, though most pit bull owners are regular, decent folks...
All the fake attack stories here... all the hatred... and the FEAR... a culture that thinks ALL dogs should be small, fluffy, and childlike (though we love those dogs too! but ours are legit as well!)
Can we fight this and protect our wonderful pets?
To those unconcerned... today it is my breed, tomorrow yours, Italy bans something like 92 breeds, including the BORDER COLLIE!

developed a strong desire for wine------Particularly a fine red Merlot I have been drinking lately. It all started innocently enough. About 3 weeks ago, I was trying to develop his social skills by making him appreciate some of the finer things in life---to broaden his horizons. Anyway---I was attempting to teach him to enjoy opera, which never really panned out. Then one day, while I was enjoying a lovely bottle of Merlot, I decided to let him sniff the cork. He sniffed it for a few minutes, then put it in his mouth and walked away. He started chewing it, but since I was going to consume the whole bottle...no big deal. He got into the habit of chewing the corks, and then one day I put a little wine in his doggy dish. Big mistake! He drank it in a flash and wanted more. Now he drinks large quantities of it and actually growls when I won't give him any, baring his considerable teeth. I feel intimidated. How do I get this to stop???

We all have to pick our battles. To some people, it's spay/neuter, to others it's combating back yard breeders and "commercial breeding enterprises".

For me, it's any anti-dog related legislation! This includes BSL, mandatory s/n, increased licensing/breeder fees...

What issue(s) REALLY gets your blood boiling??
What are you doing to help educate about these issues?
