No, it is much too small! In order to be healthy and happy, a single guinea pig needs at least 6 square feet of space, but more is better. They are actually clean animals, although few people believe this because pet store cages have them living, sleeping, etc in their own waste. A cage that size is little bigger than a litter box. Guinea pigs need to - and love to - run. Most guinea pigs housed in cages that size become fat, lazy, bored and depressed. They have nothing to do but turn around, eat and sleep.

A Coroplast and grid cage (C&C cage - stands for "cube and coroplast) is a much better option - you can view them at: www.guineapigcages.com They have the benefit of being completely customizable, but they need to be built, and for some people, this is not a feasible option.

If this is your case, then there is one commercial cage that is much larger than the typical cage you can buy at a pet store. It is made by marchioro. It is definitely worth it when you see your guinea pig running circles in the cage squeaking happily. See it here: http://www.amazon.com/Marchioro-Tommy-Small-Mammal-Extra/dp/B0007ZKQ34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1197134780&sr=8-1

Or search Amazon.com for the extra large Tommy cage by Marchioro.

No, this cage is too small. Guinea pigs need a lot of room. If you're getting 2 (which you definitely should, they are happier and live longer), you will need a cage with about 10.5 square feet of room. Even with 1 guinea pig, you need about 7 square feet. Try a C&C cage, as someone has suggested. They are inexpensive, easy to put together, and great for guinea pigs.

The truth is, if you wish to own a happy and content guinea pig, I would find a larger cage. Guinea pigs do poorly in small confinements. They love to explore. Even with a bigger cage, make sure it gets time to run around (though make sure to watch him/her very closely). I am glad you were concerned for the well-being of your guinea pig; it makes my heart glad to know there are still people who care about animals.

Sorry, but it's not big enough. You have to get AT LEAST (MINIMUM) 5 square feet for 1 guinea pig. I have about 6-7.5 square feet for my 2 pigs, and they're happy and healthy. You don't have to over-do it, like when people say you need a 11 square foot cage for 2 guinea pigs. Now get real! (Not you) A cage 4-5 square feet will be just fine. Don't listen to those other people. Just make sure you take your guinea pig out regularly!

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

No, this cage is abusively small. All commercial cages are, unfortunately. Guinea pigs need atleast 7.5 sq feet, per pig. Like GP said, the best cages are C&C. They are easy to make, and very inespensive

No, unfortunately it is not. It is way to small. Guinea pigs need about 28"x52". You should get a C&C cage. To find out more about them, go to www.guineapigcages.com.

Good Luck

Hi there,

Well its okay if you only have 1 guinea pig, add an inside hutch for it to hide in, it lives inside and you dont want to pick it up (the hole would be too small for hands and a pig!). If its living outside try a wood frame with chicken wire and a hutch. Or if its living inside try a C&C cage http://www.guineapigcages.com/ .

Hope I could help
