Ok, I just bought some tennis balls for the dogs at my local humane society and all the dogs there are big. I was just wondering if you think that they would easily tear them up.

Any thoughts?

It just depends on the dog. My 50 pound dog chews up tennis balls in 30 seconds. My friend's 100 pound dog just plays with them, without chewing them up. But the volunteers at the animal shelter will know which dogs are allowed to have them, and which dogs aren't. And they can also use them as interactive toys for potential adopters. So I think it is a great Idea to buy the shelter tennis balls. Thank you for supporting your local Humane Society!

They will easily break them up, into pieces that are dangerous to dogs. Pieces that can easily cause an obstruction. I wouldn't even give a dog a tennis ball.

It really depends on the dog. My 60 pound aussie mix would keep them til she was too old to play with them. My 17 pound minpin will eat them in 30 seconds or less. Her nickname is "jaws of death". I have never had one breed of dog always treat toys the same way.

All I can say is my Jack Russel not very big tears them apart in about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.

First of all it was very nice of you to make your donation. And I think it depends on the dog not the size of the dog as to wether or not they tear them up.

if they are allowed to just chew on them then yes they will probably rip off all the fuzz (that's what my dogs do) if the balls are thrown and the dogs retrieve them and give them back then there should be no problem

by the way is that white dog yours (in your avatar) he/she is gorgeous!

my wolf hybrid loves her tennis balls and does not tear them up but my mom has a low percent wolf hybrid that is smaller and all fluffy and she demolishes a tennis ball in about 20 min.
Guess it depends on the dog not the size.

Bad.Very.I have bought half of those pet toys, and my little poms vicously destroyed them.Imagine what they can do to a hand! I decided to just get them those overly sized bones. That way they have a reason for destroying it, it's delicious!
