we've just gotten our first female dog that isnt fixed a couple days ago. we noticed blood on the bed and then on my husbands pant leg after she had been on both. we think she's having a period but dont know for sure.
Is she on her period? how long does it last? how often will she get them? how do we keep from her getting blood everywhere?

my local fish shop sells discus fish of all sizes from small to massive, i have reasearched on a few sites that the care for these fish is moderate(not easy but not hard) and i am caring for fish of also moderate care, but some people say these are difficult fish to care for, my local sho keeps them fine and looking great, and fish isnt their ment business, could i keep a small discus in my 56ltr aquarium with neon tetras, guppies, pepper corys?

I own a mixed breed dog she never barks or growls at anyone but yesterday when we went on our walk we stopped at a creek where a gentleman whom i know was and she began to growl and bark after him. She got really angry. As i said she has never behaved that way before and I am concerned.
She usually play with strangers. Does anyone have any ideas.

Awhile back, I heard what sounded like a child singing outside(kind of a monotone "ne ne ne ne ne ne ne" sound), but when I looked out the window, I was surprised to see that it was actually a cat. He had his head bowed, and a circle of other cats had formed around him with the same somber expression and stance. What does this mean? This was not your typical "mating call".

Hi..I have a 5 year old male budgie, he's been by himself the whole time except for once when we tried to put a female in there. They HATED each other and were seperated. He has been alone since. He always looks in his mirror, so I am wondering , do you think he would like a friend, or not, since he's been alone for so long? I was thinking of trying a male with him. do you think he will accept another bird, or hate that it gets as much attention as him?

Thank You

I was in a car accident on Wednesday, and I came home briefly on Thursday, and now I am home, but "Mommy" is gone (just not in the house), what can I do to stop my kitten from crying? My 8 yr old is fine, but my kitten is in need of constant attention. Have you ever had a kitten with razor claws climb your legs, or insert then in ...sensitive areas? Jeans are not enough.

Start with a small area with a wee wee pad where u would want it to use it. make a kennel. Take it out to play but when ur done put in the area praise alot when it uses the pee pad. As she / he uses the pad in that spot give it more room. Withing time u will not need to have a kennel around it because it will run to the wee pad to go. I used this for my small dogs.
Alot of praise and chicken liver treat

I have an 8 month old Wire Fox Terrirer. He has a ton of energy. Recently I've noticed he is becoming aggressive in situations when he is being disiplined. But it is 10x worse when it involves food. Example, at my in laws house, he was eating the cats wet food, when I disiplined him by saying "NO!" and trying to move him away he bit me (hard) on my leg and growled as if to say "don't f_ck with me". A similar time when he was trying to get into the garbage he did the same thing. We give him a ton of exercise, and always show him affection. Why is he getting aggressive? and what can I do to stop this? I'm getting worried that he will do it again.

Hello, I own rats right now and we were thinking of getting some mice as well. Are mice like rats in that you should always have them in pairs because they are social?

She is 2 years old and has been left home alone for 4 days before and numerous weekends. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks 6 days is too long. She's not a cat that will eat all of her food at once and she usually has food left when we return.

My dog has been sneezing all day poor thing, must have allergies. So his mucus is all over the place. I've noticed that it's brown. Is that normal?

I have a 6 month old male cat and he has been acting CRAZY for a few weeks now.... I havent gotten him fixed yet, but i am thinking that maybe his erratic behavior is from him being in heat... he whines and cries like nothing I have ever heard before!! He has been flying around my apartment like he has a bottle rocket up his butt, clawing the crap out of my furniture and running up and down the stairs. Does this sound like a symptom of him just being in heat or could it possibly be somthing else.....? If it is just that he is wanting a little female action, is there something i can do to help calm him down?

so i asked a question before about my bald minpin. i did take her to the vet and she has demodex. they said it wasnt a bad case since they only found one but they did say she will have it forever. she had her first dip this morning and i have to go back again in 2 weeks. i was reading about demodex and it said she can fight it if she has a healthy immune system. i am feeding her eukanuba small breed puppy food. the vet said that was a good food but is there anything else i could maybe give her so she can start fighting this? she is also 5months old.
thanks

I just took in a homeless puppy and he needs wormed and vaccinated but my budjet is tight. It never seemed to cost this much to have a dog. It used to be , you took them to the vet and they womed them and, vaccinated them in one day. now they want to do alot more, and they want you to come back for more visits. These things I never needed to do before and all my dogs lived long healthy , happy lives.
