I was in a car accident on Wednesday, and I came home briefly on Thursday, and now I am home, but "Mommy" is gone (just not in the house), what can I do to stop my kitten from crying? My 8 yr old is fine, but my kitten is in need of constant attention. Have you ever had a kitten with razor claws climb your legs, or insert then in ...sensitive areas? Jeans are not enough.

Thanks for the answers. No, "Mommy" my missus is not dead. We have been away, and I was hoping for help with a kitten. Not my first cat or kitten, just the youngest.
Thanks for your input.

At that age is really young and probably feared it was being abandoned. Just give it some attention and loving. Also yes I have had razor claw climbing experiences of my own. They are not fun. If it bothers you spray bottles work well. She should calm down soon enough, just needs to get use to things again. Sorry about your car accident I hope you are okay.

At 8 weeks old most kittens will climb your legs they're just being playful - it's what they do (I have 5 kittens I should know lol), and no jeans are not enough... at least it's just your legs one of mine would jump on the back of my legs and climb while I walked until she got to my back... think your legs hurt imagine what their claws feel like in your back. Get a cat tree .

Trim his claws, just the very pointed tip, with a nail clipper. Careful, if you cut deeper than 1mm, it will bleed.
As for crying, he'll get over it. Make sure you give him a lot of love, and proper deworming, defleaing, vaccinations, etc.

If it is a boy kitten. its normal. boy kittys are very "playful" and always want to attack and stuff. Also is your cat Siamese or part Siamese? That breed talks a lot.
