My roommate and I were going to buy gerbils. Being the people we are, we ended up impulsively buying a cat.

We live in the dorms at a small private college where animals - even gerbils - are illegal to have in the dorms. Being the fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants type people we are, we ignored this rule.

We've had our cat for two days now and it has been going alright, but she won't keep quiet. People have heard her in the halls.

HOW DO WE HIDE AN ILLEGAL CAT IN THE DORM ROOMS?

ps: do you think getting a second cat would help?

My dog currently eats innova evo reduced fat for his main diet. Once and a while I give him some canned innova evo or mixables, I believe they are from Wellness.

I wanted to give him a little variety in his food now that he is at a good weight and I went to the food store today, they just started carrying Merrick. So I picked up a small bag for him to try, overall I really liked the ingredients, but it wasn't until I looked closer that I noticed one of the ingredients is whole glove garlic... I thought that garlic and onions were very dangerous to dogs.

So now, before I feed it to him, I'm wondering if I should give this to him or not. I noticed one of their natural bones had garlic in it as well, so I'm a little confused at what can and cannot be given.

I just want to make sure it will be safe for him.

I have the Turducken option right now, so I'm not sure if it is in all of them or not.

So the tree has been up and trimmed for 3 hours and my two seven month old darlings have only knocked off 1 ornament. Am I feeling too lucky just yet? Does this give you hope for your tree? I think it's due to the fact that I hung a crappy little tree instead of my big heirloom beauty. They would have mauled it I'm sure. Yay! Christmas with kittens! What's funner than that?

My baby corn snake has mites, so I ordered some Hypoaspis mites that will eat them. However I read that these would not survive on certain beddings such as paper towel. I have aspen snake bedding in my vivarium. Would they survive in this?

I am planning out a "natural" tank for my three goldies (2 calico Ryukins, and 1 red and white Ryukin) It's a 20 gallon (long) tank. I want natural looking substrate, live plants, and real rocks and wood. Other than the compatible plants- do you guys have any ideas for what I can plan my tank out like?

Hello.

My 5 year old Shih Tzu seems to have fallen ill. My aunt baby-sat him on Saturday, and when she went to pick him up, he yelped and ran off. Then when he came back to her, he was shaking, she went to hug him and he yelped 10 times.

Then when my mother picked him up he screamed AGAIN. So she said him down. Later, whhen he went to jump on the couch with her, he acted fine. He lied there for 3 hours and my mom said he looked depressed. When she went to pick him up, he screamed.

He ran over to me and he was shaking. I wrapped him up in a blanket and he continued shaking until he fell asleep in my arms. About an hour later he went to get up, so I began unwrapping him. I touched his side/neck and he screamed! Then he put his tale in between his legs and is now moving very slow. He isn't coming when he's called anymore and he hasn't been eating.

Please help me diagnose him. I'm taking him to the Vet tomorrow, but I was just curious as to what we might be dealing with.

We found a boxer last night and we are going to keep him ( unless we find his owner), but he is very skinny and I need to get his weight up. What is the best way to do this( dont be cute and reply with " feed him", you know what I mean). I think he is about 9 months old.

My Chinese Shar pei is pregnant with her first litter of puppies. I took her to stay with the stud dog for about 2 and a half weeks and brought her home on October 9th, 2007. She's pretty big, she seems to be filled with milk, yet there is no secretion. Yesterday (Nov. 10, 2007), she had a secretion of a thick yellowish strand of fluid from her vulva. What is the best way to pinpoint her date of delivery or when she should enter labor?

ok well u kno how petstores have that liquid stuff to take out the chemicals in water for fish.. can u use that for turtle water?? i used a bit and i wonder if its ok for turtles? lol i got theone of the mini turtles from china town! so cute and yes i already kno they have salmonella and i am careful

Here's the evidence:

1. She never comes out of her igloo if I'm in the room unless I'm COMPLETELY still and silent.

2. She SQUEALS like the dickens when I refill her food or water bowl.

3. She refuses to let me pick her up and I have to chase her around the cage for at least 15 minutes.

4. She goes spastic if I get too close to her cage. She runs around her cage a few times, then pounces bak into her igloo, and squeals as loud as she can.

5. She poos on me and keeps me up until midnight with all her noise.

I've had her for about 5 or 6 months. I've tried to play with her but she won't let me touch her. I feed her and water her every day, clean her cage every week, buy her special vitamin drops and bedding, bathe her regularly, etc. etc. etc. And she still hates me. WHAT SHOULD I DO?????

just wondering how many people have had their dogs whelp during day light hours? We have only ever had night time deliveries and I only know one other breeder that has had a late afternoon birth. Just wondering what the percentage of daytime births is . THanks

I think my cat my have Hernia.He is a Manx and about 6 months old.We seem to think it happen from an accident that happened today.My dad was cutting branches off trees and my cat was outside with him.My cat was on the deck and my dad was going up to pet him and he got scared and jumped off the top steps (About 10 feet), he landed on his feet but landed on one side I think.This is what my dad told me.Then we were giving him a bath and when we were drying him with a blow dryer we notice sorta like a sac of water in the lower part of his belly,we seemed to think it was fat bulging down(he is a little overweight) but then when he stood on 4 legs he still had it.My dad says it was Hernia and, from another website I read it could be Umbilical Hernias.We are going to take him to get spayed soon,so we will ask the doctor, but if it serious we will take him tomorrow morning right away.I need to know if it is Umbilical Hernias and if it is what should I do?It isn't that large and is soft.Thanks!

I know what to feed my 3 toed box turtle. I have every care sheet available bookmarked and consult them regularly. He seems very healthy and gets plenty of UVB per day. I have him on this diet:

One to two superworms every other day
Rep-Cal box turtle food available for an hour or so every other day.
Fresh strawberries, romaine lettuce and grated carrots available in a dish every day.

He normally eats a strawberry slice or two, and always takes the worms I give him. My question is.. is this diet schedule appropriate? Should I feed him more or less? Also, he only eats when I sit the food in front of him or entice him with it. He doesn't seem to eat off of the plate very often. So I worry that if I don't hand feed him, he won't eat.

Anybody know if the diet schedule I have him on is okay?

So , I REALLY enjoy loaches and I wanted to get a weather loach or a yo-yo loach but I found out a 20 gallon tank would be WAY to small for those type of fish. Do you know of any kind of fish that's has smialiar characteristcs as loach (their diet, water temp, living condition,compatibility ). They don't have to be JUST LIKE loaches but I would like them to be similar in some ways. Also please tell me a few things I need to know about the fish you recommened. Example:
They eat flakes, breeding is diffucult, should not be around children... ya know, a quick background check on the fish. Thanks you guys!

the hair alge is just killing me ive done 2 bleach dips of the plants and it works for a while. been considering a co2 system , plant growth is good but ive heard a higher co2 leavle will pretty much do in the hair alge . anyone know this for a fact is it worth the $250 for a good system , to get rid of the algee ill pay but would rather only do it if its effictive in getting rid of the hair alge

would rather have a strata heater first.

i have a miniature pintcher that is over a year old and i'm still waiting for her to have puppies. i've noticed she doesn't like being humped by a male dog, she likes to be the one humping. its hillarious but just makes me wonder can female dogs be lesbian or something? or why do they do that?
