Shouldn't you have asked this before putting it on your cat? A lot of those powders contain harsh pesticides so yes - it could harm your cat. I highly suggest giving the cat a bath and then getting some EFFECTIVE and safe flea control such as Advantage or Frontline. The cheap stuff doesn't only not work - it can often kill.

Yes, your cat will die from licking flea powder off its fur. You should rinse it out of the cat's fur immediately. There are flea treatments that you put a drop of the flea repellant between the cat's shoulder blades, where they can't lick.

Shouldn't do, but you never can tell with store-bought products. Very often they are dangerous.

What's more likely is the stuff just won't work. Don't use it in future, you're wasting your time. Please just get some proper treatment from a vets i.e Frontline, Advantage, Revolution or Advocate. Store-bought products don't work.

Not if you used powder that is made for cats. They make it specially for them because they know cats groom themselves.
