I have 2 fantail goldfish, 2 black moores, 1 molley and 1 I'm not sure. They are all little fish about 1 inch long. Will they still grow to normal size? I plan on getting a big aquarium for Christmas. Will they be ok until then?

Is there any laws in the UK regarding letting your dog run wild and kill a deer? I was walking my two dogs this evening in the dark and a dog I often see running around the woods without its owner had caught and killed a young deer. This dog has also previously mauled another smaller dog which it was reported for. Its a very large brindle staffi cross.I know who it belongs to and was just wondering if it was worth reporting as it was a wild animal it killed and not someone elses pet...

my daughter and i rescued a dog from being hit by a car on saturday. it was really cold outside, so i just didn't have the heart to let it wander around. we asked most of our neighbors if they knew who the dog belonged to. no one seemed to know. it became apparent to us the dog was not housetrained after it peed on my couch. i have been keeping the dog in my dog's crate and feeding/watering it. i let it out for a few minutes to take it outside to go potty. it has been doing ok, but i don't want to chance it peeing on my furniture again. i called animal control and he knows whos dog it is. and is picking it up this afternoon. so, my question is am i being mean by keeping it crated up till they get here?

my 19 year old cat is really skinny. She had diariha. We stopped giving her milk (I now know milk isnt correct for cats -sorry) and she has stopped the diaariha. She has been sick every other day, once a day. three days ago I halfed her portions so she gets four smaller meals nstead of two big meals and she hasnt been sick yet.(fingers crossed that this lasts) She is terribly skinny. I have a apointment for the vetranrian tomorrow. Im really worry. Does this sound bad? Is she on her way 'out'? she is old. Or is this just old age.? She is CONSTANTLY hungery! how many times do you feed a cat and does it get more when there older or less or stay the same??? I give her two of those whiskers foil pouches aday (I live in England so dont know if your famillier with this product and its size. (it doesnt have a weight of food on the packet - which it should - so i carnt tell you presicly how much i give her)
I hope this makes sence, PLEASE HELP! it will crush my mum if she dies.

Hi every1. I have had a kitten (now 8 months old) that I adopted from the shelter, and my girlfriend brought home a new 6 week old kitten. Do cats normally adjust? Is my first cat going to be ok? He plays with her, but he's used to playing rough and he seems to want to bite her (we've had the new kitten for a few hours now). Anyone have any advice. comments, suggestions?

and I have a vet appointment with the vet tomorrow and I just need someone to tell me it's all going to be ok :( She is a 6 year old female boxer and she has been having really stinky breath lately. I lifted up her lips and most of her teeth are rotted and the gum line is receding. Anyone knows what causes this and does the vet charge per tooth to take them out or do they just take out the necessary ones during the teeth cleaning? She doesn't seem to be in pain but I just need to be consoled I guess. Thank you all for your advice!

I'm trying to speed up the cycling process so i added a handful of gravel from a pre-existing tank.

1) is this enough gravel? it was literally the amount my hand could hold.
2) will the bacteria proliferate in a tank with only river rocks that are smooth and larger than the gravel?
3) will the bacteria move into my filter and expedite the growth on the bio medium?
4) would exposing the gravel to air for 5 seconds kill the beneficial bateria?

thanks for your help, experts. cheers!

I have a female cat who came to my house as a stray. I was wondering if there was any way I could tell if she has already been spayed? Would there be any incision scars and where would they be?

My daughter got one of those 5 gallon complete set fish tanks for her birthday. It has a filter and hood light (which we keep on all the time). I got her three neon tetras to start and they are still thriving, HOWEVER, every other fish we've purchased has died. Not right away, but usually within about two weeks or so. I have not had the water tested yet, but I will soon. We've gone through guppies and danios (six total). I hid the food to make sure she is not overfeeding. The water is clear. I'm wondering if the filter (even though it came with the tank) is creating too much of a current for the larger fish. They seem to always be swimming against it. Any ideas?

I have 2 cats, about 8-9 months old. I have a mirror hanging over my couch. My male cat will sit there for HOURS staring and pawing at himself in the mirror, and he will stand up on his hind legs and try to claw through it. Then he gets tired, lays down in front of it and sleeps, starting over again when he wakes up. Other cat (female) could care less.

I heard that cats dont understand that it is THEM in the reflection. It seems like he's trying to get into the other side of the mirror. Sometiems he wakes up, and RUNS to the mirror to stare for a while. Is this odd? He seems to be having fun, but should I move the mirror?

It is to my great displeasure that my question has been deleted. My question was posted in a serious manner, and simply because of being reported once, it was deleted. I was asking a question about Puppy Mills to deliberately shock people, and help them to understand just how serious Puppy Mills are in the world. And what? A few people with no sense of my sarcasm think I REALLY want to start a Puppy Mill? Give me a break. It's call informing the public. Not to mention informing myself by seeing how many of you truly know the dangers of pet store puppies.

I live in an area that experienced a late freeze and a summer drought. Hay is definitely going to be a premium this year.

But, it can still be bought. I just bought in on a load of alfalfa trucked in by semi from out of state...at an equivalent of about $4.50 for a 50 lb square bale. Not the cheapest hay I've ever bought, but delivered to my barn, not a bad price...

And I've told my neighbors that I'll buy in on whatever excess they have from future incoming loads, to let them get their tonnage up to a full semi load without having to buy more than they need, unless they want to.

I told another horsey person at my office about this and a non horsey person overheard and told me I was just being greedy, people like me were the reason others couldn't find hay. I replied that whether I'm greedy or not has no bearing on whether people procrastinate or not.

What's the opinion here? I'll still sleep like a baby, but I thought this would be something fun to toss around.
