I got him from the animal shelter two weeks ago, and they said that the mom was a shepherd mix, but they dont know what the dad is. He is only 12 weeks old and hes already almost 35 pounds, and isnt fat at all, he just had a growth spurt and is kind of skinny. And he has HUGE feet. Also, i dont know if this has anything to do with what kind he is, but his tail is soooo long! he can slap himself in the face with it! He had a brother with him at the shelter, and he was a little bigger, and he was Brindle. Please Help!!!

His cage is definitely not too big. I've read all the other questions/answers on here but non of them fit my situation. If anything he'll need a bigger cage in about a month. He goes outside just fine when he's out there, but still comes inside to his cage and acts like he can't hold it. I just can't stand the smell and he loves to eat it too. With how much he goes out side, this shouldn't justify this behavior.

He is jumping on the window sills and jumping on everything really fast and he is running all over and meowing loudly!! What is he doing? Like I said I never had a cat before. What is wrong with him. It is like he won't stop jumping and running. HELP???

People say it's all the low quality parts of an animal. My dog's food has chicken by products and Chicken as the two main ingridients. But I dont get it. In thw wild don't wolves eat every part of their prey? they are pretty healthy.

Some of the questions here are simply hideous. People don't seem to do their absolutely essential homework.

Most dog sites claim that the chow chow makes a loyal companion, but my folks say that it's vicious. I can't make up my mind about getting one because I can't help but fall for that teddy dog yet at the same time I'm afraid that getting one would do more harm than good in my household. I've already prepared my home (I'm living by myself and my lifestyle's pretty laid-back) before considering the possibility of getting a canine companion. Help! =(

So things have happend this weekend. Friday I discovered a massive tumor on my baby and we brought her to the vet to be put down Sunday. Then we ended up getting these adorable four and six week old babies that are getting along great with my two year old rat. They are from a pet shop that breeds rats at the place and I got to meet the babies sweet parents. I chose these two from different litters because they were the best. The babies are really well adjusted and have gone on to my hand willingly and are very healthy and courios. The only problem is that they nip a lot. The older rat nips but she is not as friendly. How can I get them to stop nipping?

I have a 4 month old Standard Poodle. Everytime she gets in the car, she starts drooling and then throws up. I think it's because she associates the car with bad things such as the vet or groomer and is scared, but i'm not sure.

SO my dog is a 1 year old male shih tzu. Ever since he was young he loves to play with all kinds of toys (balls, ropes, squeeky things, bones, etc.) We love playing with him. Anyway whenever I have something in my hand that he wants (liek his ball or doll or something) he will bark at me like crazy until i give it to him. Its become verrrryy annoying because sometimes my nephew will come over and be playing with his own toys and the dog thinks its his toy so he barks at my 3 year old nephew til he gives it up. Ive tried saying no (in an aggressive, calm, assertive way) when he starts barking but he doesnt stop. Ive tried just not giving up but he ends up barking for like 2-3 minutes (which is a long time for my dog to stand here and bark at me) until i give up.
What can I do to fix this problem?

His name is Buddy. We found him wandering around about a year and a half ago. His previous owners didn't want him and said he had been abused before they got him. His left eye is permanently light as a result of this.
So anyway, what do you think?

Hi i bought two male bettas (Walker and Texas Ranger) almost a year ago from my lfs (don't worry they're in separate tanks) and one of them (Texas Ranger) is acting very listless lately. Actually about a week ago i came back from a weekend away and Texas had a fungus all over his tail. So I treated that and just did my 25% water change yesterday as per the instructions on the broad spectrum fungus meds. His tail looks awesome but his spirit has died. he's either perched on a suction cup at the top of the tank so he doesn't have to move far to get a breath of air, or he's shoved himself under a piece of driftwood at the bottom of the tank. He still is interested in eating but he's very slow and the danios that share the 33 g tank with him usually beat him out. anyone had this happen before? I put him in a small vase about 1/2hr ago to give him a break from the currents and to give him a chance to eat on his own. My other betta is still healthy as ever. All water levels are fine.

I've seen a stray cat in my street, driveway & backyard for a few weeks. My family dislikes cats & we try to "shh" it away when it's nearby. Today I did that in my driveway & it stared at me & meowed aggressively. Later I was going for a walk with someome & it was behind a car on the other side of the street, staring. As we continued walking, it started following us! It wasn't walking, but rather running slowly in our direction. Scared, my friend "shhed" it, but it just waited there until she started walking again & it started following us again. We ran, & after a few houses we turned & it stopped following. But when we were returning, we saw it crossing the street where we were approaching. We got a ride back but now I'm scared it'll attack me when I leave my house. We might have provoked it with our "shhhushing", staring, our general dislike & fear, but what do I do now? Will it attack me again? How can I prevent that, and how can I protect myself if it follows me & tries to attack?

I have changed his food twice! First we were feeding him wet food & then I figured that was the problem, so I switched to dry puppy food. But he still gets the diarrhea. Any ideas on why??

Wisconsin is the Badger State, and dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers. Wouldn't a dachshund want to live in Wisconsin more than anywhere else?
