Well I don't know about a rabbi shot....lol They can get a rabies shot if there is no proof of a vaccination. Shelters and rescues do this all the time since most of the time they do not know what shots have been given.

Shouldnt be a problem. Better safe than sorry. We recently took in another dog, who is around 2 as well. We found her, and had no idea if she had her shots yet or not. Thus the vet went ahead and gave her all the shots. Said it wouldnt be a problem.

If you don't know if he's had his rabies (not rabbi, that's a jewish holy man), shot, check with your vet about getting him another. I don't think doubling up on this shot is dangerous to the dog.

Where did you get the dogs and how old are they. Take them to the vet for a healthcheck.
If they were gotten from a shelter of sorts they usually have shots.

First......it's ''Rabies'', not Rabbi (that's a Jewish priest, I think.)

Where did you acquire this dog from? You should ask whoever you got this dog from, if he has received his Rabies shot, and if so, ask them to provide you with the tag.
-OR-
Ask them if the dog has ever been to the vet, and if so, which vet clinic did he go to. That way, you can contact the vet yourself and ask for what medical attention he's received.

Ask the person you bought the dog from if he has had his shots.

I can't imagine it would hurt to have two rabies shots close together like that, but just to be sure, I would take him to a vet and ask the vet.

We are just mere citizens, not doctors, not veterenarians, not scientists, politicians, peacemakers or innovators.

Did you mean "rabies"
Did you mean two "year" old dog.

Rabies vaccines can be repeated and some people repeat them every three years. They can have adverse reactions though and your dog could get very ill so it would be handy to know the medical history.

Is your dog Jewish???

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Take him to the vet. They will probably give him another shot just to be safe. That's what happened when I took my cat to a new vet and they couldn't get hold of her records from the other vet.

He can only get another rabbi shot if it's kosher.
