I hate to be a doomsday thinker, but diarrhea in a puppy could be any number of things. How old is the puppy? Did you just get him? He might have worms, or even worse, parvovirus which can be deadly. Definitely don't feed him any of that disgusting wet canned dog food, it makes them smelly, teeth rot and runny poops.
If he still has the diarrhea you should take him to the veterinarian to be looked at and tested. If it's parvo you could lose him quickly. Better safe than sorry, diarrhea is an indication that something is wrong! Good luck.

Dogs digestive systems are very different than humans. Their systems can't tolerate changes in diets. The first reason he has diarrhea is because you changed his food. You should only feed him dry food anyway. Its good for his teeth to keep the tartar build up down, and it will keep his butt from smelling so bad when he farts. The other reason he has diarrhea is he could have worms. Almost all puppies and kittens are born with worms. It is easily fixed by a dewormer your veterinarian can administer. So pick a good puppy chow dry dog food, Wellness is a good brand, and don't change it until he can have adult food. If you do want to change his food you will have to do so gradually. Mix half of his old food with half of his new food for four meals and slowly taper off the old food. Good luck.

You should always change their food over a period of about a week. Mix increasing amounts of the new food. Changing his food suddenly can cause stomach upset and diarrhea. If the diarrhea does not get better in a couple days he needs to see a vet.
How old is the puppy? Has he had his shots? If not get him to the vet asap because he could have parvo or distemper, I can't remember which one it is that gives diarrhea and vomiting.

Yes, you already answered your own question: you changed your food twice in a short time. It is normal for the first or second day diarrhea after changing dog food. I know you had the best intentions in mind, try to cure your dog's diarrhea. If you do want to switch dog food later in the future, you can introduce the new food together with the previous food you were feeding your dog, that way the stomach won't react this way. It will be smoother for your dog's body to process it. So: stick to one food type for a while. I feed my dogs with Kibbles and Bits, it's a good quality food.

Switching food can cause diarrhea. Try putting him on a bland diet for a day or two. Use white rice and boiled chicken. Mix together and give him this. It should help settle his intestines and stop the runs. What were you feeding him before the diarrhea started? If he's had this for more then 2 days, take him to the vet. They can give him a shot and pills to help control it.

Take him to the vet, please. Puppies dehydrate very quickly. One day can make the difference between life or death in a puppy. Take a sample of the diarrhea poop with you. Just put a bit in a zip lock sandwich bag. In the meantime try feeding him baby food meat like Gerber in the little jars and some baby rice cereal flakes in a box in the baby food section.

What brand of food are you feeding? If you're feeding food from the grocery store then that could be very likely the culprit. Try feeding your dog foods that are of Lamb or Duck. They are the easiest on a dogs system for dogs that have sensitive stomachs. Also try adding some pumpkin to his food. Use the Canned Libby's pumpkin without the seasoning. The pumpkin with firm up his stool. Pumpkin is high in fiber and Vitamin "A".

A drastic food change will cause diarrhea. Try feeding him rice and chicken until the diarrhea clears up. Has he been wormed?

DRY FOOD is def a better choice espically towards the new growth and strengthing of his teeth. He may be having diarrhea simply from the swith and because his body rejected the wet. I use Iams puppy chow. BUT STICK TO THE DRY... he will get it out his system in a few days...if not..then i suggest you take him to the vet
