don't worry about the bubbles. I assume they are on the top of the tank? at water level? It's the male's role to make a bubble nest for the female... ( whether you have one or not) so she can lay her eggs. I DON'T suggest you buy a female as well though because if he doesn't kill her right away, he will certainly try to kill her after mating with her. ( very fickle fish) then you also have to remove the eggs b/c he'll try to eat those too. he may stop blowing bubbles after a few days/ weeks when he realizes he's got the place to himself... other bettas build nests all their lives. it all depends on your guy

Don't feel embarrassed to as this question. I used to work in an aquarium and people came in with this question all the time. The male will build a nest of bubbles to hold the females eggs. This is a definite sign that you better fish is happy.

Male bettas make ''bubble nests''. It's not a problem, it just means your fish is sexually mature. Don't worry about it.
