How do I get my chihuahua to gain more wieght?
I feed him hot dogs and bologna all the time but he stays the same.

He is 3 months old right now, and I want him to be big enought to play with my friends brussels griffon.

Can a Chih get to be over 6 lbs like maybe 10?

our nine-year-old cat's been in an animal hospital since thursday night. he's fairly alert now. we've been given the option to visit him at the vet's (he can't come home for at least another day). should we? do you think it'd be mean, like teasing him, that we'd get him happy that we were going to take him home and then completely let him down? or do you think it might be just comforting? would we associate us with the animal hospital?

Do you worm on a routine basis, or take fecal samples in yearly??
Do you show or do performance events and are more concerned about parasites??
Do you rely on Interceptor or the like for parasite control?
Do you use garlic or some other "natural" remedy for parasites???

(we are just talking intestional parasites now...no fleas and ticks!)

My labrador retriever has a problem with urinary incontinence. She has been on a couple different meds with negligible results. She still pees when she sleeps. We have resigned ourselves to having to keep her in doggie diapers for the rest of her life. This isn't so bad--she's energetic and eats well, so it doesn't seem to affect her too much. But the odor is OVERWHELMING. Is there something like a pill I can give her to remove the urine odor before it hits the diaper?

I am watching a friends dogs this weekend. She feeds a holistic natural canine formlua by Bench and Field. It says it uses "free range chicken" and the ingredients contain chicken meal, ground brown rice, whole ground barely, chicken, dried beet pulp and other vegis and fruit like dehydrated apples and blueberries.

Does anyone use this food or know anything about it?

Currently I feed my dog Innova EVO and my 3 three cats Wellness. I have heard and read that it is better to rotate foods for animals. Now does this mean to switch brands or flavors every few months? And, is this the same for cats as well as dogs? Responses from folks with experience would be great. I want to make sure my animals are as healthy as can be. I don't mind spending the money on these pricey foods, as long as I am doing the best thing for my animals.

My friend has a cat who is trained to do this. I refuse to share the bathroom, when I visit, with a cat. Its just wierd to me. Not as though a box of sand/poop in a corner is any better. Maybe its just because I'm a dog person. Whats your opinion?

Hey there. I've been wanting to have a Praying Mantis as a pet. I know they're out of season, but if I were to put a heat pack under the tank, would that allow the eggs to hatch as well as keep them alive?
Also, I can't find a site that will sell them to me during this time of the year... unless I work for a school or something. Do you know of any safe sites to order a Mantis egg from?

My cat, Sophia, was hit by a truck last night. It broke one of her back legs and resulted in a hernia. We weren't able to get her into the vet until this morning, and they said they aren't going to operate until Monday. Has anyone gone thru this before? What are her chances of making it through this? How serious are hernias?

Please prey for my girl, Sophia, she's my baby and I love her so much. Thank you everyone for any help.

i would like to get some clownfish for my saltwater fish tank in a few months after my tank cycles. it will have 15 lbs. of live rock to start out with and i will get more later. can i get a marron and a Ocellaris Clownfish and put them in a 30 gallon saltwater tank together? if it matters i am also getting a cleaner shrimp and a few turbo snails. i might also get some peaceful fish later down the road.

we noticed it just yesterday right after our guinea pig died that they're was white cloudy stuff in his right eye. He seems to be able to see fine and it doesn't look like it is bothering him. Is it something that will go away or should we take him to the vet incase of infection?

well we had 2, one was 6 and one is 1 and a half. We kept them separate because the older one didn’t like the younger one. The 6 year old just died yesterday, it was pretty devastating even though she was a small animal. I’ve had her since I was in the 4th grade, now in 10th. She wasn’t eating or drinking or peeing or anything, the one time she did pee, it came out with blood. This was 2 days ago, so we took her to the vet and they said she had a cancerous lump on her ovary the size of an egg. We wanted to do whatever we could to save her so they took a urine sample to see if she had a bladder infection because her bladder was enormous apparently and every time she got scared, she would run up to me. They shaved her and did an ultrasound and made sure that it wasn’t her kidneys or a bladder infection and since it was on her ovaries they said that they could spay her and remove it that way. We decided to do it and give her a chance because the vet said she would have 2 months or less

I feed my dog Innova, one of the best out there. He used to eat Iams at the shelter. When I switched him, the difference was just incredible. His coat was better, he slimmed down, and he doesn't have as weak a stomach any more.

aqarium and 7 new fish, now all fish are compatible but here's my issue how do I acclimatize 2 seperate tanks of fish into one new (3rd) tank. so far I set up the new tank/filter fallowed all directions on the chemicals/conditioners and added in some of the really dirty water and have left the filter on a few hours to mix and ready the new tank and Ive put some of that combined water in with the cleaner newer fish. Now what do I do and how long should I wait to mix em all up in the new tank? Im worried about harming them, what are the risks involved?

I have a 8 month old Pomeranian, and when he's left alone he gets upset and pees in my shoes, and tears stuff apart. We recently starting putting him in a crate when we're away and at night. I feel so bad, he looks really unhappy. Do you think crating your dog is mean? Should I stop doing it? What are some alternatives to crating? Thanks!!

This was yesterday that I was outside I was playing with a local bat flying around so I grabbed it not thinking that they had teeth because they only eat soft insects so when I grabbed the lil feller it bit the crap out of my hand and scratched me while flying away. I hear that bats carry rabies possibly, is this a life threatening disorder? How can I tell if I have rabies? Do I foam from the mouth like dogs???? Symptoms?!?!!
