Definitely visit him. He's in a strange place, with strange people, and not feeling so grand. It'll be a small comfort to see the people who love him. Perhaps bring a favorite blanket/bed/toy from home, for him to have with him.

Yes, visit your cat. I used to work at an animal hospital, and all the hospitalized animals seemed to do better when the owners visited. Many pets wouldn't eat for us until the owners came to see them.
Two tips:
Before you go, ask the vet if you should bring him some of his favorite food from home. Sometimes familiar food helps recovering animals get their appetite back and recover quicker, but sometimes they need to be on a special diet, so check with the vet.
I agree its a good idea to give your cat something from home with your smell on it, but make it something old you don't care if you get back or not. Sometimes sick animals mess up things put in their cages, and sometimes things get lost in busy animal hospitals.

I think visiting him and bringing him a favorite toy or blanket from home will comfort him. I couldn't stay away, I'd be to afraid he thought I'd abondoned him. So go for a nice visit and leave him something comfie from home and when your there be encouraging don't cry or you'll scare him Good luck I know how you feel, but contact is always the best thing.

Definitely visit him. My cat was hospitalized from liver failure due to accidental poisoning for 2 weeks. The only time the hospital discouraged us from seeing him was when he was in great distress, and could possible crash and expire. At one point when the hospital did everything they could , including medication to reduce brain damage, and he was at an unresponsive point, I happen to visit. The hospital warned me of his state, but I insisted. Upon hearing my voice, he suddenly attempted movement, and showed some life. He did pull through his illness, after thousands in medical bills, and the vet as well as myself thought that the visits from home and the kids were what kept him fighting. Imagine them being ill and than thinking they are abandoned on top of it. Yes!!!!! You should visit!!!!!!!!

We had our cat at the vets and my husband would visit her on his way home from work. After a couple times the vet said it's best not to visit her because she was very sad after he left, so I say don't visit cause kitty doesn't understand why you're not taking him home. One more day and you'll probably have him home. Good Luck.

no it wouldn't be mean, my cat was in the hospital from monday night to last night. We visited her twice a day, so she would know we didn't abandon her. She was frightend, and wouldn't eat for the vet techs, she ate for us when we came and then started eating from the techs a few days later

Go ahead and visit him, take a towel along that you've laid on or a shirt you've worn, so he can smell home. Spend time with him.
We've done it several times for our pets who were in for long periods, the cats all appreciated it.

just wait until pick up day and he's all well. That would be best. When I worked at a clinic, I paid tons of attention to the hospitalized pets - I know I would want someone to pay attention to my pet if she were there. I can bet he's just fine!
