My labrador retriever has a problem with urinary incontinence. She has been on a couple different meds with negligible results. She still pees when she sleeps. We have resigned ourselves to having to keep her in doggie diapers for the rest of her life. This isn't so bad--she's energetic and eats well, so it doesn't seem to affect her too much. But the odor is OVERWHELMING. Is there something like a pill I can give her to remove the urine odor before it hits the diaper?

Applecider vinegar in her drinking water. It Phs the system and naturally the urine and removes the majority of that offending odor.

How To Eliminate Dog Urine Smell

How about training her? You know, that thing you do with dogs that takes TIME and EFFORT but pays off because the dog will LISTEN and won't eat everything? If you don't have time to train the dog, then maybe you don't have time for a dog at all and should find her a new home. Leaving a dog in the garage because she destroys everything in the house is not a good solution.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8Xv

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

urine will have some odor to it.. it is waste after all!

Put her on a high quality diet, less waste coming in, means less waste going out. Lots of water will help dilute the urine.

Change her diaper often.. that will prevent odor and prevent skin issues from the urine. You may want to consider taking her to a groomer and having a sanitary trim done.. they can trim the hair around her butt so that there is less hair to absorb any urine, and it will be easier to clean her skin during diaper changes.

If there is a commercial product it would be found where you get the diapers, or at a Vet.
They best home remedys for eliminating odors are Baking Soda and Charcoal. ( you are changing the diaper and getting rid of it outside of the house, Right)
I personally own a little machine that emits OZONE and keeps our Rig odor free even after slicing or cooking onions or Fish. There are a variety of these at Wally World or online
you could probably Yahoo or google Ozone Machine for info on one.

A vet I'm not, but baking soda is perfect for urine spills, bedding, etc. Put some in the laundry, too. No, I don't work for the company--it just works.

If it was poop odour i would suggest amplex tablets, but urine is filtered through the kidneys from the blood so probably wouldnpt make mucj difference. Give her plenty to drink to keep the urine dilute - this will help- and change the diapers regularly to prevent ammonia forming. If she does pee on the floor, mop up and put tomic water on the spot to kill the smell.

Same problem with my present girl. I just don't use the diaper.
Anyway, just a pointer : since putting her on home made raw, she doesn't have a great need for water. /you need water to rid your system of poisons!!/ Her incontinence has decreased drastically.
For urine smell use Nature's Miracle.
Best of Luck!
