My German Shepherd puppies are 3 weeks old. The mother isn't letting the puppies feed from her any more (is maybe a another problem).

Can i start feeding the puppies solid food like sloppy rice with mush up liver for example???

I am getting a corn snake (maybe 2 depending on answers) from the same place (petsmart) [there arent any local shops near] and was wondering if i could keep them together since they have been living together for awhile. Would i need a bigger tank? I would expect to have to feed them in separate places but other than that, could they live together?

My sons husky is around 6 years old, from a different home, previous owner said he's skinny cuz of intimidation from another dog in their house, its not putting any weight on because it has constant farting and squirtting diarreah. I told my son take him to a vet cuz something isnt right. They think it will get better but its not. What can cause no weight gain, and the big D, stinky D. Im thinking parasites or worms. Maybe some kind of stomache problem? Thank you in advance for answering my question. Rick

He has not always done this, it has just been the past couple of weeks. He doesn't seem to have any other symtoms, he's eating, drinking and playing as he usually is. Any idea what this could be?

Okay, heres the story. In 2006, my mom bought me a $400 pomeranian from one of my best friends aunt. My grandparents took me to go give the breeder her money (only $100 at the time) and she gave me my dog. She did not give me the papers on him. My mom gave her the rest of the money later within the next week or so, and she didnt give her the papers because she hadn't registered the litter yet, and said she would soon give them to her. She never did. Its been almost a year and my dog is now two. I don't even know his birthday! What do me and my mom do?

I am getting probobly either a orangish or a brownish corn snake. I want to know what all he will need, espically lighting. I have a 20L (long) gallon tank setup. I have aspen bedding, two medium half logs, and a medium water dish. Do corns like to climb on branches and plants (fake)? What kind of lighting does he need? Does he need UVA/UVB? I plan to get an undertank heater as well as a basking bulb and fixture. Does the heating mat go underneath the basking side or on the cooler side?

P.S. Any names for my corn would be appreciated.... (I'm thinking about Quincy.)

I NEVER thought the day would come when I would buy Hill's Prescription diet from my vet...... My 14 y.o. shih tzu has been having GI problems to include diarrhea and a variety of other GI issues.
Vet said rice and all that. Well, low and behold MY dog wouldn't you know it won't eat rice of any kind, white or brown, real rice cooked soft or even minute rice. He is a fussy boy but he's my angel. Soo......... I bought a half case of the canned i/d. The vet and I thought of all kinds of things for him to eat but it was a no go with him. Never heard of a dog that won't eat rice.

He does eat the i/d just great and loves it and he has had not one GI upset or problem since starting it and his bowels are fine and his poop is fine.

But I hate supporting Hill's. Will continue to do so until I can find a better brand for GI sensitive dogs.
Do you know of any better brands specifically for dogs with sensitive GI systems?

I have 10 month old pit bull, up until now she has had a beautiful, shiny coat. Recently patches of hair have become bald (small patches) and some red bumb have appeared, which then turn flaky. I immediately suspected fleas but don't see any on her (i can usually see them on my other dogs). Any how, I have given her flea baths and replaced all of her bedding and cleaned the area she usually sleeps in. It seemed to get better for a day or so and then worse. Now her whole backside is going bald, her hindlegs, butt, ect. I don't know what to do. I can't take her to the vet right away...but could it possible be mange or something like that and is there anyway to treat that from home????? Thaks in advance.

I just bought a ferret not even two days ago and from the second i brought her home she's had this brown/dark greenish somewhat runny bowel movements. At first i thought it might be the stress of coming to a new place, so i bought her some duck soup and tried to feed it to her. She ate just a little bit and then threw-up afterwards. I'm going to take her to the emergency vet because i am really concerned. My question is since i just bought her what exactly does the marshall guarantee cover??? i knew she might get sick one day but i didn't think it would be this soon! i hope my girl is ok.

We have a female rottweiler, 6 yrs old, who has always been healthy and is an inside dog who only goes outside supervised. A few days ago, she started bleeding vaginally a bit and we assumed it was her going into heat. Then we also noticed she's not eating and the bleeding is getting much worse. She can't even keep down water. She drinks it and 30 seconds later it comes back up. Today she started throwing up what we think is stomach bile. She's always been a healthy, active dog and has never had a problem eating. We called the vet's emergency # and for some reason it's not working today so we have to wait until tomorrow morning to have her seen, but I'm just wondering if anyone could give me an idea what this could be and how to help her. Thanks...

I have a 3 year old cat who is not that very friendly to other people. She is very sweet to my husband and I but whenever we have visitors, I always warned them to not touch my cat because she might scratch them - just a precaution. My brother brought an obnoxious guest the other day, I warned him and all that about my cat and he still was very disrespectful despite of what I said...He bothered my "sleeping" cat of course, as reflex, my cat doesn't know him at all she scratched him and made this scary meow noise (that I never heard her meow like tha before!) make the long story short, a week after this idiot got scratched..he called and asking about my cat's vaccine records - he was saying that his hands is swollen due to the scratch. My problem is, my cat is behind 2 years of vaccine. I don't want anything bad to happened...BUT IT WAS HIS FAULT! have he not bothered my cat he wouldn't get scratched. I am very upset. Could he get a rabies virus?am I in trouble? Please advise!

She is 15 years old, and has been chewing on lower branches (more like twigs), and then spitting them out. She will stay in one spot while doing it, and has done it to multiple trees and shrubs. She will be nochalant about it and then other times visciously shake her head from side to side trying to tear it off the tree.
We have plenty of trees and shrubs and have never seen a pattern of it (like after meals or before meals, or before bed.) She does it randomly, when she feels like it. She will stop if you tell her to. Obviously, she is a border collie so she is smart and is doing this for a reason. She has never liked chew toys or even toys-- just her soccer ball to chase.
So why is she doing this?
