My daughter's boyfriend has a friendly stray cat in his garage that has a litter--he's working hard to find homes for them when the time comes. Now they have fleas--not terribly, yet, but still notable. How can you treat fleas on kittens that young?

I am thinking of getting a dog. which breed?

My mum wants it to be small (maximun height of a cocker spaniel), no wrinkles and cute.

We currantly have a rabbit and hamster so will need it to get along with them. We are not asking it to become best friends with them, I would just prefer it if it just ignored them.

We want the weekly cost of grooming and feeding to not cost much.

Basicly, all we want is a cute, lovable, companion puppy which will be spoilt rotten.

My mum tells me she wants a Chihuahua but if we get a chihuahua, should we get a long haired or short haired?

BTW, we live in Hemel Hempstead, you know, the place where buncefield exploded? Yeah.

Any answers will be appreciated.

P.S. we are fed up of people calling Chihuahua's snappy, annoying dogs. To be honestr, any dog will be snappy and annoying without propper training.

Okay, well I breed mollies, and I just have a few problems.

First of all, I got 3 male mollies by accident, and no females.
Second of all, my tank is only a 20 gallon, so I don't want to get like 6-8 females for my males.
PLUS I also breed guppies, so I ALREADY have 6 adult guppies, along with my mollies.

So my question is, WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!!?????

I'm not willing to get a tank ANY bigger.

AND- how do I solve this problem!? Because I REALLY want to breed mollies!!!!

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

And I will choose best answer at the end!!!!!

P.S. Can a molly survive a 5-10 minute bike ride home?

Thanks!!!!!

My distant neighbor adopted two puppies from the animal shelter a few months ago. He didn't keep them in a lot and just let them roam the neighborhood and they both took up at my house with our adult dog. My husband and I have fed and looked after these dogs for the last 3 months.

Last week we found one of the puppies dead on a neighbor's porch and buried it. We were extremely upset by his sudden death and thought maybe he'd been run over. Sunday evening I noticed the other puppy, who I named Jace, acting very lethargic and nauseous. I kept him in a cage in our house that night considering his brother had died only days before. I was worried they might have been poisoned. First thing Monday morning, my husband and I took him to the vet and he had parvo. He was there until Thursday and we were then able to bring him home.

The neighbor is now offering to pay for the vet bill, but I don't think he will take care of the dog. I consider him mine now and it has nothing

i just wanted to sleep in ONE day, but my dog wakes me up and he has to !go! outside. so, i let him out, get back inside, and my bird is screaming bloody murder.
(cockatoo, smallest of breed but dang she has a set of lungs. she could outscream a macaw any day. (dont take that to offense, macaw owners- its a figure of speech.)))

so, shes on my head now, i think sleeping (sigh), and i know shell scream if i put her in her cage, waking the rest of the household up.

so, how can i get her to go backl to sleep?

She is afraid of the dark, so i cant cover her or turn off the lights (which wouldnt help because the suns coming up right about.. now.)

I've been reading a bit about guppy diseases. Could it be that my guppy is having constipation? This morning when i was feeding it, i noticed a little lump on the swollen stomache. The tank is a 10 gallon tank with 3 females and 4 males (including the one that is swollen). Should i isolate him from the other fish?

The reason I ask is that I have used it and almost killed my cat with it. Hartz is aware of this issue and refuses to do anything about it. My cat went into severe convulsions. DO NOT USE THEM. All vets will tell you that these are very dangerous! Please throw them away and do not buy ANY HARTZ products.

I'm really not wanting to go. I have a great petsitter but if I die I have no one who would take as good care of them as me!
Can anyone give me a better perspective? I'm getting kind of freaked about leaving them.

rabies? ok heres the story- my dad's work had a stray cat who had kittens infront of the building and ecerybody took the kittens and nobody took the mother, so we took it. we took it to the vet and it had nothing but a big stomach and they said we should worry about it. now we find out shes prgnant, 3 weeks ago she had babies. we dont know if the father had rabies and theyre like biting eachothers heads and attacking eachother and they hissed at theyre mom and my real mom, shes was cleaning the carpet which they sleep next too[she used one of those bottles with the trigger and it sprays] do thet have rabies? or even the slightest sign?

Ok, I went to a well known and respected pet store last night. At least that's what I thought.

I bought a dog that is called a chidorkie. It's chihuaha, yorkie, and doxie.

It isn't a baby, really, it's 5 months old. So it was in that pet shop, in a cage, for 5 months. Sad, huh?

Ok, well I bought him, and bring him home, and he is just freaked out. I have him a little calmed down, he ate some food, and he has played a tiny bit with my chocolate lab that I already had. But he wont drink anything. I'm really worried, because I don't want him to get dehydrated. I did what my papers say, to put some honey on a dish, or the roof of his mouth, and it didn't work.

I put the water dish in front of him and tipped it so the water was on the edge, and he took like 4 tongue fulls, but that's obviously not enough.

So I have 2 questions...

How do I get him to drink.
And what can I do to make him not scared?

I have toys for him, blankets, and pillows... (read on)

My friends have a pair of lovebirds for several years. The birds had babies, 6 babies. They put two brother and sister in a same cage. I think my friends seldom play with the birds. The birds don't have out of cage time. I am thinking to adopt two of the birds. However, I want to tame them, play with them and sit on my shoulder. Is it possible? If yes, how? Please advise. Thanks.

Some neighbours of ours bought a Collie puppy for their 11 year old son and the pup is now 9 months old. Right from the start we could hear the boy taunting it until it barked then reprimanding it when it did. They haven't got their garden fenced properly and he keeps escaping. The whole family shout and scream at it and I hear the boy threatening to whip it and I can see he has a very long whip. The dog never goes to them when they call it but is totally cowed. When it misbehaves they chain it at the bottom of the garden and leave it to whine pitifully. I have tried contacting the RSPCA but they only said that from what I had told them the cruelty was not 'sufficient' for them to intervene. Has anyone got any ideas what I can do, I can't bear to see and hear what is happening to a lovely puppy.

This morning, I gave my dog a pig ear treat...the first time a few days ago, I gave him one, he ate it right there. This time, he went to this little area of trees in my yard and buried it. I've never ever seen him do this before, so when I saw him do that, it amazed me that he did that..and then got me to wondering has he been doing it all the long? But when he saw me looking at him we held a long gaze, I don't know if he thought I wasn't suppose to see him, because it was almost as if he wanted to hide and do it. What should I do to get my dog to stop?

We got a mixed breed puppy for our daughter last year and for the most part he's a good dog except he's grown so attached to our daughter that he gets very aggressive if you go into her room barking and growling. He tries to get into her room at night and if we go to chase him out he'll get very aggressive and it's starting to worry us that he'll end up biting. There are times when he'll even jump etc if we give her a hug. Outside of that issue he's otherwise a pretty good dog. He'll be a year in November and he's a mix of several breeds including lab, sheppard and I personally even suspect perhaps some chow.
My question is how can we get him to calm down so that he's not quite so overly protective?

i need some advice from ferret owners on methods that have work for you when it comes to ferret proofing your kitchen. In the rental house i live i have a small kitchen and then a space attached for my washer and dryer which for some reason doesn't have a door in front of it. (For now i have temporarily ferret-proof everything by stuffing towels tightly into every hole they could possible find to crawl into). I was thinking about getting a children's gate to the entrance of my kitchen, but didn't know if that would actually work since one of my ferrets is a semi-good climber. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
