A couple of hours ago I was bitten by a dog (German Shepard). I had to do something because we'd already ran the dog off twice for chasing the kids at this gathering. it came back and was chasing a little girl who was running and screaming and crying her mother was doing nothing so I ran out and grabbed the dog so that he wouldn't bite her or knock her down. He smelled my food in my opposite hand and tried to jump at me. I tried to lead it away from the children but when he failed to leave them alone and follow me out of our yard I grabbed him from behind the little girl again and thats when he latched onto my arm. I have 2 large and 2 medium sized puncture wounds as well as multiple scrapes. the two larger woulnds have just stopped bleeding. The ownder's were not at home (or just wouldn't answer the door). The car in the yard had rims on it but no tag and there was no name on the mailbox. Should I take pictures, see a Dr., go back to their house? What?

my 3 dogs sleep confined in the kitchen and the storage room behind the kitchen has been converted into their "bed room" with their baskets etc.
one of these 3 doggies is a puppy so he still has quite week bladder control. so my friend said not to leave any water out after their last walk at night.
is that ok? i just feel so sorry for them as if they are thirsty they can't have any water? is it ok?

I do not get the 25% water change. Do i just remove 25% of the water and add 25%? Can i remove the water with a cup, a jar, or a bucket? (i have a 10 gallon tank)

What is the best fish filter for a 45 gal fresh water tank? I've got two X-large 8-10 year old goldfish. I've had them since they were itty-bitty feeder fish.

I've been thinking about getting a new one because my fluval 304 just isn't cutting it. I like filters that don't have that waterfall filtering system, I've had ones like that and the sound drives me crazy!

my damsel has cottom mouth it looks lik a white ball in the side of his mouth,and breaths very fast, i put in a diff tank and i also put in freshwater for a few secs n them back to the small tank , it seems lik its going away its not as big as before but hes still breathing fast,should i dip it into fresh water again,next week,? or what please help.

I cook every night for my family, and my dog is use to eating human food, at first it's my son that fed him scraps under the table, then he started begging everytime I cook. I'm very happy he loved my cooking because my husband and son sure don't appreciate it.
But my dog's vet said it's bad for him to eat human food, because of too much salt, he hair fell out on his head. How do I get him to eat dog food now that he's so used to human food?

OKay, so i got this cat from my boyfriends sister and its back legs don't really work well and its sort of retarded. The thing is it was really sweet when I first met him, now (i got him today) he's just sitting under my bed hissing at me and not moving. Its really pissing me off that the cat won't just move or eat or something. I'm leaving it alone in the room and sleeping on my couch tonight because it freaks me out. Does anyone know how long it takes for cats to get accustomed to a new environment? cuz i'd like to get in my bed without fear of my eyes getting scratched out.

I'm wondering if this is from lack of vitamin C, but my guinea pig is losing hair like crazy and has big bald spots all over. Her skin is starting to get irritated from it though. She's had this before and we cured it with neem oil but it came back and we're doing the same. It seems a lot worse this time around though. Are there any different foods I could feed her (we give her regular guinea pig food, oranges, and a lot of lettuce. basically any kind of fruits/veggies we have; often from a garden using nothing but water and sun.), or any type of medicine to give her? Does anyone know what this is? She's fine other than that. She gets a lot of attention, and is healthy otherwise. I'm guessing she's about 4 because I picked her out when she was just born and I got her when she was ready. She's an Abyssinian by the way.

Before leaving for college, dechlorinated a 3 gallon bucket of tap water with 10-13 drops Seachem Prime Water Conditioner. I come home a week later, and the top of the water has like this clear white mucous layer, kinda like white slimy boogers. I touched and it it's a little slimy and partially semi thick. What happened?

I didint mean to offend anyone nor was i trying to judge anyone on Yahoo. I guess in life you are more likely to be more understanding to people you know. You take into account their opinion more ,not always agreeing with their ideas but maybe realizing why they feel a particular why. I just wanted everybody to look at something from a different perspective and then make up your opinion.
Now be honest have you ever answered a question differently based on your association with the asker. For example would you be more understanding ,to someone you knew on Yahoo ,then a complete starnger?Also do you tend to see the best in people or do you tend to make quick judgements? (I know sometimes ,you dont hear the whole story so you just judge on what you know) Any thoughts or opinions on the matter appeciated.

I recently added 3 platys and 4 guppies to my 45 gal tank. I had 4 other small community fish. Less than a week later, only a few of them were still alive.

I tested my tank prior to adding the fish, them temp was 78 degrees, and all levels were good. What the heck. This seems to happen every time I add fish, could my filter be too small??? It said it was adequate for my tank...

I have had my tank up and running for several years, am getting tired of fish dying....I hope you can help.

Hey all,
I recently grew mysid shrimp in a plastic tank. The only things in the tanks were pumps, pipes, a few nets, and heaters (no sand or other substrates), and uneaten artemia food. On the second day of the experiment, the pH suddenly dropped: from 8.2 to 7.4, then returned to 8.0 the next day. On this day, the dissolved solids were also at their lowest level of 20.92ppt (usually they were closer to 24ppt).

Is there any reason the pH could have dropped so suddenly? I think the CaCO3 precipitated out somehow (since both pH and TDS dived simultaneously), but cannot for the life of me work out how. I haven't used aquariums very often, but didn't alter anything on the day when everything crashed. I would be grateful of any help.

Hi, I'm new to this whole thing so I'm sorry if I come off a little 'new'.
I have a kitten named Odin-1.5 yrs old, male tabby. The past few days I've noticed a bit of blood on our floor. I waited to see which cat it could be (have 2). My other cat is eating fine, full of energy, completely normal. Odin, not eating, I think he is drinking enough and today I've come to realize it's him.
This morning I found clotted blood on the floor, streaks of blood here and there. I thought to look in the litter for whatever reason and there were 2 big clumbs of blood. The vet couldn't say if it was mixed with fecies or urine because there was more blood then anything.
I brought him to the vet today, he has had this kind of problem before and had the same diagnosis, diarrhea. The only other thing that was abnormal (unless for cats it is normal) his temp was 39C. Odin's eating a strict diet of some can food she gave me and taking tylosin twice/day.
Can diarrhea really be it? Seems weird?
