Bathing will not get rid of fleas. Flea shampoos do not work.
Go to the vets for a proper treatment. At 12 months of age, you have the full range to choose from - get a veterinary spot-on and apply it to the dog, make sure it gets on the skin, not the fur.
Don't use anything from a pet store - they don't work and some are dangerous, hence the cheapness.

The first thing to do is to get flea treatment from your vet. Get Frontline or Advantage they work better than stuff at Walmart or other over the counter places. Most of their products are pyrethrin (sp) based and don't work as well on fleas as it use to. Second you need to treat the yard and definitely treat the house. The fleas that you see on the dog are only 5% of the population. the rest live in your carpet and yard. You need to make sure if you buy foggers for the house that they last longer than 5 months, because a flea can stay in the pupae stage (a very hard coccoon stage) for up to 5 months so if your flea bombs only last three months you can still have a flea problem. That is the best way to kill fleas but if nothing else put them on Frontline or Advantage YEAR-ROUND to help keep them protected.

Bathing won't help, even if the ones on her die, there are now eggs all over your house and new ones will hatch and jump on her as soon as she gets out of the bath. Use a monthly flea treatment from your vet, thats the only way to keep it under control. I use Revolution, i like it because it pervents heart worm and mites as well as fleas & ticks. You put it on once a month and any fleas on the dog will die instantly, and any new fleas that hatch and jump on, die as soon as the bite the dog (because the medicine is now in the dogs blood stream, it gets absorbed through the skin) and not have a chance to lay more eggs. Dont even bother with any of the crap you can buy at the store...it doesnt work. Best bet is to get stuff from the vet or online, Frontline is also good but doesnt protect from heart worm and mites. Good luck, fleas suck!

HI...first off....don't bathe the dog everyday...or you will dry out it's skin. Check with a vet....as there are meds you can get to prevent the fleas. If you can't afford that....a good flea powder (read directions and be careful when using it).
There are also flea shampoos....just don't so it every day!
Good Luck!

Take her to the vet, they can give you flea treatment that works & that's right for your dog. You should also have an exterminator come & spray your house to get rid of the fleas that are in the home. The exterminator will probably have to come twice, to ensure that when the eggs hatch in a few wks, the new fleas will die before they can lay more eggs.

Ok first of all....STOP GIVING HER BATHS. It is not good for her skin and she is probably very dry and irritated. You should only wash her once a month at the most.
You need to give her ONE bath with a flea shampoo....comb her out and go get a flea and tick treatment from your vet and apply it.
Do this ONCE a month.
That is how you get RID of her fleas.

HI . You can get some very good flea and tick repellent from Wal-mart or Dollar General. It comes in a little tube and you rub it into your dog's skin along his/her backbone.I use it for both of my dogs and neither one of them has any fleas or ticks. It lasts for quite a while and most packs have 3 tubes . Hope this helps :)

DON'T give her a bath EVERYDAY. that is very bad for her skin, it dries it out. you need to take her to the vet & get flea medication. you know..like..frontline plus or advantage. & you also need to ask them for some tips about proper care since you didn't know that you aren't supposed to give a dog a bath EVERYDAY.

get a flea treatment medication. usually it is shampoo. then after your puppy gets rid of fleas, put your puppy on flea prevention. it is a liquid you put on her neck a few times a year, and it wards off fleas. but treat the current fleas first before putting prevention on. and it better sooner rather than later because if a puppy has a lot of fleas, it can damage her health because she could become anemic.
