my damsel has cottom mouth it looks lik a white ball in the side of his mouth,and breaths very fast, i put in a diff tank and i also put in freshwater for a few secs n them back to the small tank , it seems lik its going away its not as big as before but hes still breathing fast,should i dip it into fresh water again,next week,? or what please help.

This wouldn't be cottonmouth (Columnaris) as seen in freshwater fish, but it could be fungal. Rather than continued frehswater dips (which can be stressful for your fish), you might try just lowering the salinity to see if that would help. It's unusual for fungus to attack healthy fish.

I'm including a link to a good website for marine diseases for you to look at. Rather than a fungus, you might find that this is something with a different cause (lymphocystis, vibrosis, etc.). Each name in red opens a link to a page with more details about the biology and treatment of each condition.
