Take heart. It is actually quite common for an adolescent dog to revert back to their un-housetrained ways.
Best tool to get them back in the game is crating them at night or when your not there to monitor them. The crate needs to be big enough that they can stand and turn around but not so big that it's a play area. Dogs by instinct will not want to soil their 'den'.

Also, be sure to feed your dog on a set schedule. Same goes for what time in the am you let the dog out of the crate to go potty.

I have been house training my puppy which is 12 weeks now. I get up several times at night to let her out. Rarely do we have an accident. I do crate her when were going to town. Or if she's unruly and won't go to sleep. Good luck to and keep up the good work.

There are several things that you can do. I have had the same issue with my gal.

The first suggestion I have is to limit his food intake before you go to bed. I would recommend that when you have supper, he has supper and his food dish is gone.

The second suggestion is to limit his mobility for the evening. I use a baby gate on my door and thus, my gal has the room that I am in to be comfortable and sleep in. She has water and her bed in my room. This has stopped her from nightly accidents. I tend to not agree with crates as they are so limiting for animals. Even dog pens at the pound allow for some room to move. I also leave her in my bedroom when I go out. I leave the gate up and while she is more then strong enough to move it, she doesn't.

I reward my gal every morning with a small bone to say thanks.

Best of luck.

put his food up and dont let him eat before you go to bed. or, keep him in a crate at night. our boxer does the same thing.

Crate him at night. Don't feed him anything 3 hours prior to bedtime and make sure he goes before you go to bed.

You should also talk about this with your vet.

it could do withthe feeding schedule you have
I feed pups at 8 am and again at 4 pm and then they can usually relieve themselves before bedtime.
You may need to crate training until you corect this/
good luck

Have you changed something, food, maybe got another animal, changed anyhing, did he or she use to sleep with you but now you don't let it,it's upset about something. My dog listened to me so well when my children were not here for the summer ,we did everything together,I took her to the store with me but sometimes she would get mad if I didn't let her come in with me and twice poo pooed and pee peed in my car but she did it on the rags i had in the back seat to clean the car with,NOT STUPID!she knew exactly what she was doing, but other than that i'd watch movies with her and she always slept with me...no accedents.....But when my Children came home and I gave them alot of attention ,she started pooing and peeing on the front door rug and in the laundry room,so i let her sleep with me again with the door shut and were back to watching movies, she knows my routine so she knows exactly what I'm going to do,she is always in the same room as me,sometimes she plays with the cat but gets jelous if i give him attenion or the chinchillas.I had her to where I could walk her without a leash, but i'm not going to try that,I make sure she gets praised and a treat for going potty outside, she will come to me and bark to let me know she has to go which is about 3 times a day, wake up,mid day, before bed,and now no problems I ask her if she wants to go watch tv and she knows where to go,I ask her if she wants to go by by and she goes to the front door and when i open the door she goes to my car,and if i buy something for one animal I buy for all because she somehow knows when i come home that I have something for them and waits for hers.I forgot to get her something a couple times and she walks away dissapointed and chewed the cats new mouse to shreds when she usally leaves his stuff alone........So I hope this helped...Good Luck, something has had to change,my dog even gets upset if i bring in a new peice of funiture,or move things around..........Mia....Their love is so worth figuring them out, also animals do not respond well to spanking they will feel guilty and hurt but not know why you hit them and will do worse things to get even negative attention.Praise is the best way to go.so when your dog does go outside praise it allot and it will want to do what makes you act like that toward him or her all the time,ok I think I'm done..lol sorry about the book, just wanted to help,I know the frustration all to well..:) Sorry about spelling ,but spell checks not working.Ok i'm back all my life of having animals ,dogs cats, big birds, small birds chinchillas, ferretts, nuttes, fish,I never limited food from Birds, dogs bull mastiff, mastiff, german shepard and wolf ,alaskan malamute,,bishon frise, westie, cockattoo's,cockatiels raised and hand feed by me. and I didn't use feed them every so many hrs,I feed them before their crop was empty no matter if I had to feed some at a diferent time then others...all were very healthy birds, not one died. They always had food dish out with fresh food and water etc.and never did I crate them up! for all you crate people. And all my animals were and are people friendly, were never fat becouse they new their food was there whenever they wanted from being babies so they never developed the need to over eat ,wondering when their next meal would be.in the wild animals are not crated up and can come and go as they please also eat whenever they want and you don't see fat animals in the wild so yes your vet may have said do it this way but thats what they get paid for, they have to say something to get paid,I'm sorry but i don't agree with some of you and don't expect you to agree with me,but could you at least think about where I'm comming from,Animals did not ask to become pets.Again sorry about spelling but i'm a bit disabled.Thank you for those who gave this a bit of thaught.......Mia

Did you increase his food or change his food? Get him tested for worms.
