My cat had a littler of five about two weeks ago (or maybe more). Now, all five kittens' eyes are open, they are walking and all look healthy. But about an hour ago I was with them in the barn and looking at their paws. Something didn't seem right. So after looking at the Unlce and mother of the kittens' paws I realized all of the kittens had five or six toes on each foot and the uncle and mother only had four and a dew claw. So how many toes does a typical barn cat have on each paw (not counting the dew claw) and what would've cause the extra toe? Or is it just a freak thing?
Also, does anyone know how many toes a 'mitten toed cat' has? Thanks Alot!

My dog is about 3 years old. He recently (about 2 months ago) started barking ALL the time. Every little noise, every car door that is shut on the whole block. We have people on our block that come in at all hours of the night. He's barking and keeping us awake. I dont want to do the shock collar thing, he's a small dog, only 13 pounds. I got on petco.com and they have a thing that emits a high pitched tone that only dogs can hear, and supposidly stops them. Anyone use this or have any ideas?

Help!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!

Thanks!

XOXOXO
~Amanda

My cat is 3 years old now.I'm just wondering how long he'll live for.I heard that feeding cats too much canned food can shorten their life so i feed him canned food once a week and dried food any other day.

Is it true that "small dogs" are best for small apartments? Or is it really all about the dog's energy level, meaning lazy dogs are best for small apartments. Thoughts?

A few examples may include:

A Sheltie without its ears folded (prick-eared).

A Dobermann without its tail docked.

And, would unacceptable colours for a conformation class be accepted in most other dog sports?

I have an 8week old Jack Russell, the people i got her from were feeding her weet-bix in milk,I didn't think that was healthy so i got dry puppy food for her age bracket. she is happy and playing well, also going to the toilet fine.but when she eats her tummy bloats.she was the smallest of the litter and is still very small.should I be concerned something is wrong or could it be just because she is so small??????

I've just noticed this relatively recently. If my cat is around and somebody is whistling to themselves, he seems to get really annoyed/excited by it. He'll start meowing a lot which is kind of unusual since he isn't overly vocal most of the time, and goes over to whoever is doing it.

Is this something that is common to all cats in general? Does their hearing have a sensitivity to more high frequency pitches?

Thank you.

Hi, I have a 24g Nano cube 7W setup and the s.g. is at about 1.022. it has been cycling for a week and had live rock for 5 days, i have had 2 yellowtail damsels and a green chromis in there and they seem happy and active. they do not eat though, i have "spectrum marine formula" and they seem to be hungry (they suck it to their mouths, but it seems the damsels mouths are too small to eat the pellets, so what should i do? flakes better? also the chromis takes it in its mouth but then spits it out?

She doesn't cover up her stuff in the litterbox. She THINKS she does, cause she bangs her paws on the side several times...but when she hops out, it's not covered at all. And it's strong enough that the smell fills the room if it's not covered soon after she goes. So I have to go behind her and scoop some litter over it and spray some air freshener. What can I do to teach her? Or can she be taught?

I am choosing to feed my dog natural cooked food. I made her a pan fried (just a little pam to keep it from sticking) chicken breast and sprinkled a little garlic powder over the chicken ( i heard that its good for themm) . my doggie loved it and i put the leftovers in the fridge. Was this good to give my dog...? can i cook semi large quanities of meat and veggies and rice at one time the refrigerate for a week or so? i will not let the food sit for more than a week (i doubt it will because my dog loves it)

Like i said... my dog doesnt like dog food... like she will pick the chewy morsels out of the food and leave the rest...

I get a lot of complements on my boxer and we were thinking about breeding him.Is it Necessary to get him neutered, will it really shorten his life span if he isnt or will it make him a "wuss"?

I have a new 30 gallon tank. I let it run on its own for a week, then put in one cobalt blue cichlid, and another a few days later. They seem to be doing good, except that aren't really blue anymore... Its like the middle of the fish is blue, and the outside of it is almost white on both fish.. Anyone know what may be going on. They look pretty healthy except for the color change, it's really noticeable.

My puppy has a microchip in her and I just found this out. I got her from my old neighbors and they didn't mention anything about it. I just took her to the vet and got her her shots and whatnot and they scanned her and told me. If she had already been registered to someone or reported lost would it have shown up immediately when they scanned her?
