Just because people think your dog is nice looking doesn't mean you should breed. People compliment me on my mixed breed all the time and I didn't breed him. Is he AKC? Does he meet all conformation standards? Is there any white boxers in his background? Did he have a cancer screening? Hips OFA'd? You are aware of the problems with boxers right? Maybe you should read up.

Getting a dog altered doesn't shorten life and it certainly won't make a male dog a 'woos'. If you had evet seen any of the male Rottwielers I've had you wouldn't need to ask that LOL.
IF you think your dog is really exceptional then do what I did. Start with the breeder who bred your dog. If it is a reputible and ethical breeder they can help you a lot. If they don't show or work activly with the breed, other than just breed then look elsewhere. Start by finding people that are involved showing or competing their dogs locally. I'll give you the AKC link to get you started. Ask to set up a time convient for people to bring your dog and it's pedigree to help you evaluate the dog and it's line. DO talk to more than one and have more than one evaluate your dog and check over the pedigree. And what I mean by taking the pedigree is that quite often breeders know about other people's lines and kennels. Your dog may be pet quality or it may be something better, but no dog is perfect and some lines carry faults that you would want to avoid in choosing a match for your dog. In other words if there were dogs that had a faulty topline that showed up in some of the dogs you would want to breed to a dog that's lines had as excellent a topline as you could find. See? It's not so easy and this is where you need help. Plus if you want to breed responsibly and ethically your going to have a lot of homework even if you're lucky enough to find a mentor. So be open to what you are told and if the dog isn't quite breeding quality then accept it. You can always go in search of a dog that is if that's where you're interest lies.
I answered this question seriously because as it turns out I did have a dog that was as good as I thought. And it turns out she was pretty exceptional, and not just by my own opinion. A Rottweiler ***** with a beautifl head and perfect topline and I even had a good idea where her physical weakness was. I didn't breed her because breeding to me is a very weighty thing. You are responsible for the puppies you bring into the world and you are responsible for the lives they will lead..did you find a good home or not? This is exactly what an ethical breeder faces..that know matter what they are responsible for the lives they bring into the world, and you will be no less responsible. And even breeders who are just studding a dog feel this weight. It's a lot of responsibility.
So I would not discourage you to go find out if your dog is as good as you think it might be. But if you're going to breed, do it ethically and responsibly. If you feel it's more than you care to take on then do what I did. I spayed my dog because when it comes down to it, the world won't suffer or even miss that you choose to not breed and your dog will be no less for it
OOPS forgot the link LOL

If you get compliments on your Boxer, congrats. But this doesn't mean you should breed him. Instead, tell the people how you trained him so that they can have a well-behaved dog like yours.
Please neuter your dog. He will not be fat, or slow, or a 'wuss.' He will be healthier, happier, and concentrate even more on his training instead of on the ladies.
A lot of Boxers are euthanized in shelters, forbidden under BSL's, or shot by police because of the 'pit bull' hysteria going on right now. A slew of ignorant people can't tell it's a Boxer. Please don't add pups to this world that could face these horrific fates. Neuter now, rather than later.
Thank you.

No, it will not make him a 'wuss'. It will in fact save him from prostate and testicular cancer, and is therefore the responsible thing to do.
Getting lots of compliments is no reason to breed a dog I'm afraid. In fact these days there isn't much of a reason at all because there are already far too many dogs - don't bring more puppies into the world, you'll be taking up homes needed for the dogs in shelters!
Do the right thing for your dog and the dog population in general and have him neutered.

It will not shorten his life but will prolong it. Un-nueutured dogs suffer from everything from massive dog bites over bitches, to getting prostatitis at an earlier age. Neutered dogs never get it at all.
There are plenty of boxer puppies out there as well as homeless dogs. Don't add to it. It will not make him a wuss but watch his diet and exercise him regularly.
And NO, 6 months is NOT too young. It's perfect!

It's best to get him neutered. It doesn't shorten their life span and it won't make him a "wuss". If anything, it will help his attention span/energy level.
To the person below me: It is not a proven fact that it shortens their lives; however, breeding them can cause sever health risks in the future.

I also have a Boxer and he's so loving and exciting. He has large power yet likes to dangle out and cuddle. large kin dogs. when I first have been given my boxer it replaced into like having a toddler. i replaced into up all situations of the evening taking him out and education is a 24-7 situation. because of the fact the boxer is older you won't have a potty situation. I did a brilliant form of learn earlier I accompanied. keep in mind with a toddler on the way it must be tense to supply the dogs all the attention it needs. they could be possessive and do issues to get interest. additionally keep in mind vet costs and nutrients etc.

Neutering you dog will NOT change him in anyway....except with positive things. Neutered dogs can live longer as they have less of a chance of getting certain kinds of cancers. They won't feel the need to mark their terrirory as often.
So do your dog a favor and get him NEUTERED!!!! Breeding him will only add to the millions of unwanted pets that are already in shelters and rescues.

Neuter him. Just because you are getting a bunch of compliments from "pet people" doesn't mean he is good breeding stock. Any breeder who sells a pet puppy on unlimited registration probably isn't the best breeder, witch means he didn't come from good lines.
Neuter Him.

Actually neutering a dog will lessen the chance of him getting several chronic conditions male dogs get as they age. The only reason against getting him fixed is if you're going to breed him.
