Hi, I have a 24g Nano cube 7W setup and the s.g. is at about 1.022. it has been cycling for a week and had live rock for 5 days, i have had 2 yellowtail damsels and a green chromis in there and they seem happy and active. they do not eat though, i have "spectrum marine formula" and they seem to be hungry (they suck it to their mouths, but it seems the damsels mouths are too small to eat the pellets, so what should i do? flakes better? also the chromis takes it in its mouth but then spits it out?

Try soaking the pellets in a little tank water for about a minute before you put it into the tank. That should soften the pellets enough that they can eat them. You can also try breaking them into smaller pieces.

It really sounds like you may have gotten a bad 'batch' of fish food. I would immediately stop trying to feed this to my fish and try a different container of food. There are a couple of other possibilities I would explore as well, but that is the first thing I would try. I would also try flakes as you mentioned, or smaller grains to see if that helps. If all else fails give them a couple more days to get used to their new enviornment and try again.

try a different food for sure.. we feed frozen, flake, and nori on a regular basis. Don't make brine shrimp the only thing you feed them. no nutrition in them unless you soak them in vitimins etc.

Also 3 small Damsels are not going to eat thet much anyway.. anly feed what they can eat in 5 min and pellets may be to hard.. soak them to soften.

frozen brine shrimp are the best. take a piece the size of a pea one for every fish. hold it in the current so it will thaw and not get sucked into the filter. i have the same tank
