I have an 8week old Jack Russell, the people i got her from were feeding her weet-bix in milk,I didn't think that was healthy so i got dry puppy food for her age bracket. she is happy and playing well, also going to the toilet fine.but when she eats her tummy bloats.she was the smallest of the litter and is still very small.should I be concerned something is wrong or could it be just because she is so small??????

does it eat too much? then probably reducing the amount would help.

You may want to feed her smaller portions and maybe feed her 3 times a day if it is still to much try feeding her twice a day,and never leave her food down for any amount of time. maybe 15 min. max. if she doesn't eat it all then she will eat more at lunch. puppies don't quit eating when they are full so just give her a little less then 1/2 cup 2 or 3 times a day. Also make sure she always has fresh water down.

usually animals get worms or can be born with them in them system already. I would highly recommend that you take your puppy to the vet and get him tested for them. Better safe than sorry. I just recently visited the vet to have my 5 week old kitten checked and the vet told me that bloating is usually more often than not from the animal having worms. Nothing alarming just protocol. Most vets deworm young animals to make sure!

I wouldnt worry. We have a 10 week old doxen, and her stomach bloats after eating, and before using the washroom. Its completely normal. Worms wouldnt grow large enough in 8 weeks to bloat the puppy, and even if she had worms she would be bloated all the time.

Sounds to me like worms ! All puppies have them at 6 to 8 weeks and need to be treated.

All dogs get big tummies after they eat. It's normal. But do worm her. It is important to worm puppies.

She could have worms, or you are feeding her too much. Call the vet they are the best for these situations
