Your dog may have priapism, and it is very serious-take him to the vet NOW. And reconsider ever using him as a stud again. Any erection lasting over 4 hours is an emergency. And yes, dogs get erections, the os penis (bone in the penis helps aids in the "tie" during mating). Find an emergency vet now-please.

Try a very very sugary warm water solution. The sugar will draw out excess moisture from his penis, and help it recede.
If it doens't go back in after this, take him to the vet.
Also, I wouldn't recommend breeding him again, if this happends once, it is likely to occur again.

I would say keep him away from the female and in time it will go down, let nature take care of it, but to be safe why not ask your vet first !! I wouldn't be doing anything to him by trying to make it go down , you could hurt him !!

Truthfully, your dog should have it's reproductive organs removed, called spaying/neutering. This will stop your dog from being in heat and will also stop unneeded puppies from being born in the area.

You really should see a vet. And while you are there, make an appointment to get your dog neutered. This shows he is not really up to sexual activity.

Hun, you need to call your veterinarian and bring him in for an appointment. An erection should NOT last that long at all, he needs to be seen.
