Hello, I have a betta fish for quite a long time. A friend of mine has a red eyed slider turtle. I don't know much about turtles. I was wondering if they can both live in the same tank. It's a 5 gallon (20 liter) tank.

Yesterday on 7-19-07 a man somehow he let hes pitbull loose and attack my dog almost in the entrance of the Dog Shelter in Baldwin Park, leaving my dog with a big wound in her head. During the attack they where two animal control officers as witnesses. and a big chance of camera surveillance as well.I was able to get the pitbull owner information. Now my pet is at a vet animal hospital. The full medical expenses for my dog will be a total of $843.00, and so far I have only pay $185.00 just for my dog get treatment in her 2 inch round wound showing her skull. My dog needs urgent surgery to cover the wound, and this cant be done until I pay at least half, and I dont have the money to pay half. I contacted the owner of the pitbull, and he denied to pay the full total cost of my dog medical expenses. He said, hes only willing to pay half and nothing else. Then, I attempted to make a deal with him by paying me half, and I will give him month to pay me the other half, and he said no, only half, and I want him to pay the full total amount for hes irresponsibility. By the way my dog has license and all her vaccine shots, and was leash during the attack. I really dont know what do. What legal actions can I take? Is there any way the city could pay the dog emergency surgery needed to save my pet life, and then the city charge the owner of the pitbull, since I got all hes information (phone,address,licence).

I want to konw what other fish i can have in my tropical aqurian, at the moment i have all livberers and nothing else apart from to algae eaters, what othere fish can i have in the tank ? It does not matter the size as long as they are peacful and colourful and are between the prices range of £0 - £7.

Also can i have a red tailed balck shark in the tank with platys, mollies and guppies>?

The tank is moderately planted!

Please give me good advice!

Do you stay in contact with the breeder? Keep them up to date on health problems or temperament problems?

When you have a question about your dog, do you feel that you can go back to your breeder for help?? IF NOT, why NOT??

IF NOT, why did you choose that breeder, if you didn't feel comfortable enough with them to be able to ask them questions about a dog that they should know better anyone else??

i have a femaile himalayan X chinchilla cat, and she is about 9 months old. she has just come onto heat (i think) because she is making what seems to be a distressed mating call, and is walking around really funny-like,poking her bottom in the air. She seems to be in some kind of discomfort, especially around her lower back area.... when i pat here there she goes into a fit.... MMEEEOOWWWWW!!...
is it normal for a cat to be tender when she is on heat?
How long will she be like this for?
Is there anything I can do to comfort her.


And genuine advise would be great.
(and please don't tell me that i am cruel for not having her desexed/spayed, as she is a breeding cat and i plan to breed her next season)

I've had my goldfish about a year and ive never had any problems with them (2 of) But for the past 2 weeks, they are always at the top of their tank, my dad said they are tryin to get air, i cleaned their water (which i do every 1 or 2 wks) and they r still doin it, i have not seen them swim for ages, just swim at the top with their mouths at the top?

My kitten is now 4 weeks of age. I was wondering what age can you turn an air conditioner on in the same room as them? I haven't had mine on, because kittens can't regulate their body temperature and need degress of over 90, right? I was just wondering at what age they can regulate their body temperature enough for me to be able to turn my air conditioner on?

I positioned my guppies fish tank in a dark place, where the lights are off at 6pm...so when I check on them at 8pm, they are all lying on the bottom.....sleeping???

when I turned back the lights on...they are still looking restless...until I opened the lid, and they started to swim on the top surface and stayed there, watching me and being still.

In long term, will lack of light cause harm to them?

I go to shelters frequently and look for pitbull or presa canario puppies to rescue from the dog fighting slave owners. But I never see pitbull puppies at shelters that should be getting rescued.

My little girl got 2 snails on Tues. we chose two of the most active snails in the tank at Petsmart. But when we got home one didn't move at all. When it finally did it attatched to the other snails shell. Last night it was floating in the tank. What could have happened?
