4 wks old is so young yet.
A kitten that young can get cold rather quickly. I would wait until it's 6 wks or older. That's my opinion.

Just don't have the kitten unable to get into a covered and warm spot. Heated pet beds are a great option because the kitten is big enough that it can get onto them on their own, but make sure it has plenty of covering so the kitten will not get heat scalding. If you see the kitten sitting in a corner or tucked away and shaking make sure you cuddle it and warm it up and turn the air conditioning off. You never mentioned where you live, pheonix arizona would definetly need airconditioning where as devon montana may not require air conditioning. Sometimes what we humans find as a comfortable temp is a bit too cool for other species!

The nursery area should be maintained about 75-80°F for the first week. Then it can be gradually dropped to about 70°F. If a heat source is used, it should not be warmer than the queen, as the kittens head for the heat source to nurse. Kittens will lay side by side or piled on top of each other to stay warm and for the contact. If they are spread throughout the box, the temperature may be too warm. Kittens need the extra heat, as they are unable to regulate their body temperature until several weeks old. The rectal temperature of a newborn kitten is about 97°F and rises each week until about 4 weeks of age when it is a normal adult temperature of 100.5-102.5°F.

I am an reluctant expert on kittens, but I was smarter than the Mom, not as smart as the little terror kittens, but...
Don't worry about the temperature unless the Mom is not around...they are "cats," they have "fur," so they will be good from 60 degrees to whatever...
After 8 weeks, you can start feeding a kitten some "solid" food, and remember...until they're about two months old, they are prey to everything except cockroaches and their Mother...(I could go on and on, but I might cry, for this tough guy bonded with four kittens not long ago dumped in his closet, and after 8 weeks, found them good homes...and they were potty trained to boot...)
God help you, kitten owner...they are the cutest, most lovable things you'll ever encounter that will destroy your home in a matter of seconds...
If it wouldn't have been inhumane...
I would've got 'em an Aquarium to live in...

At 4 weeks old he should be fine. Actually now in the summer he will appreciate some cool temperature too. When tehy can't regulate body temperature, it is easy to get heat-stroke too. But since he is Ok, I guess he escaped that. Just don't put the temperature too low, and watch the kitten. If he looks unwell, take it to another room.
