I have an empty 2.5 gallon tank. I would like something that is easy to care for and doesn't require a heater. I already have a betta, so I wouldn't like anymore. It doesn't even have to be a fish. It could be snails, etc. Any suggestions?

I bought a Black Moor Goldfish this past March from Petsmart and placed it in a 2 gallon Spongebob Tank I also purchased there. I love Spongebob! :P I realize this tank is small, but I figured for the time being, it would suffice. My fish (Phisher :)) has since grown bigger and I am going to upgrade his tank soon. I am worried that even with a larger tank, he might not grow, because he has been in the small one since March. I know many fish grow to their environment. I asked an associate at Petsmart, who told me it was alright since I hadn't had the fish very long ... But I wanted to see if anyone had more input! Also, Does anyone know how to tell gender on this species? Thankyou so much!! :D

She found it on the side of the highway driving home from work. Her mom won't allow animals in her house, so I guess she thought I'd be a sucker for it.

The kitten has a broken leg, she is not using it at all.. she's infested with fleas (I treated the fleas) and has worms badly (I gave her dewormer). Right now I have her in a pet carrier with food and water.

Do you think the vet might discount this? I give them at least $1k/year for my animal care anyways. Also, do you think they'd help me find her a home?

God Help me. My kitten's eyes turn to the back of his head and he figits...then he attacks us, leaving terrible deep cuts and sucks the blood of our wounds like he's nursing off his mother. He shakes vigerously while doing all of this. His eyes sometimes turn red. I dont know what to do!!! I've tried everything: throwing him, punting him, kicking him, bathing him, showering him, feeding him, shaving him, petting him, god, I just dont know what else to do! Please guide me!

First, here's a few quick facts about her: She about 4yrs old; she's been treated for pinworms, coccidia, and constipation and is now clear of all those health problems (has been for over a month), she's been in the shedding process for what feels like almost a month now. So, to the "problem"--since she is shedding I was giving her a warm soak earlier today and she ended up pooping in the water which isn't an uncommon thing for her to do. She got some poo out and then started straining as if there were more to come but instead of producing more poo a little bit of blood came out. Is she ok?

Does anyone know what a glofish is? I just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to care for a glofish. I just got one today I think they are just zebra danios and I know those are schooling fish but they only had one left. As soon as they get a new shipment I will get two more. They are pricey though 8.99 a peice. He lives with a one cory catfish and one amano shrimp in a three gallon tank. How do you get them to glow in the dark.

My neighbors had a cat he was playful & friendly & a typical cat older though. They apparently moved out & left him behind & now he's adopted me. The problem is that where I live there are lots of restrictions & bring an old cat use to running around having to confine him to my little apartment & indoors seems rather cruel. In the end it's better for him I know but again it seems rather like an adult use to their freedom & independance then suddenly taking that away because of no fault of their own but because of an illness or age. At the same time being an older cat the likelihood he would be adopted out probably arent too great either & good or bad I couldn't have the possiblity of him being put down either especially through no fault of his own. THis all came up because of the neighbors moving but also a management employee saw him out my door one day with a bird which while sad is just nature calling for him. So which in opinions seems less cruel locking him up or humane society.

I have a Greatdane. He's so cute, and such a handfull. He drives me crazy some times, but I love him. He thinks he's a lap dog sometimes, and he's a big baby. He's only 14 months old. I got him when he was 3 months old.

Does anyone else have a Greatdane?

Is it rare for them to be white and have black AND grey spots?
cuz he's a harlequin.

His name's Gideon.

What is everyone's thoughts on Greatdanes?

It appears my show mule has a suspected pinched subscapular nerve. The vet did the lameness exam and basically the diagnosis is gait inconsistencies, but no lameness or soreness.

The vets recommendation is tomorrow 2g's of bute, the next day 1g and then ride him that night. I don't even have to ride him, its evident at a pivot and a trot.

If he is better with the bute, accupuncture, if not, xrays. His gait problems are so subtle that someone that didn't know this mule might not pick them out, my friends sure couldn't see it.

His injury is from the one time I hooked him to a work harness. The collar pinched the nerve and suspectedly caused this because the next day we entered a pleasure driving class in his pleasure style harness and it took the whole arena to turn him to the right, which is not like this mule at all. I gave him time off, checked him for sore spots, with nothing showing up.

So if anyone has any knowledge, I am all ears on this!!

My friends cat had kittens born on fathers day, and what will be a reasonable price to make sure they go to a good home. they kittens are 4 weeks old, and they will be ready to go to their new homw when they are 6 weeks old. They are grey and black in color. They r all tabby kittens. Per kitten. The fee will go to spaying/neutering her cats.

I would like to know how many lobsters are actually sold in most grocery stores, and do they get fed while waiting to be sold or do the grocery stores let them starve to death? Also has anyone ever purchased a lobster from the grocery stores just to keep as a pet and not eat?

Does my little puppy, Duckie have a vitamin deficiency? He keeps bringing in wood pieces and chewing on our back deck? Is it just a puppy thing or what? I am worried he will get splinters in his little mouth...

Also, he has a broken tooth..is that bad.. he's only 14wks.. I am pretty sure it's a baby tooth, but when will it fall out..I didn't see any exposed nerves and it's not effecting his eating, but I don't know if it's bad or not...

One more thing. We have down comforters and he shredded one of them..feathers were every where.. do dogs have like fetishes (only not a fetish, I don't know the word for it) for things, or could it be the scent of the comforter..or even could he have been angry that we left him alone..I know he hates to be left alone, he usually occupies himself after we leave, what's going on inside our little Duckies head?

Thank you all,
Ally

I had been hoping to get ferrets since the beginning of this year and reseaching for any information i could find on them. then 2 ferrets that i had been looking at for a while went on sale at Today's Pets. The lady at the store said they were 6 or 7 months old. I brought them home with little trouble and got them settled in their cage but the next day when i took them out they started biting me. I tried Bitter Apple and saying "NO" when they bit me but i don't think it was working. After having them for about 3 weeks my mom sent me on vacation. I was away for 3 weeks and my mom was taking care of them. When i came home they were still biting. I think the boy ferret is only playing but the girl will bite down and shake her head and it will take me a few minutes to get her off me. Is it normal for a ferret to hold on like that? Also the girl doesn't like the ferretone or the hairball treatment so how do i get her to take the treatment? and what treats can i give her when she behaves?
