I would like to know how many lobsters are actually sold in most grocery stores, and do they get fed while waiting to be sold or do the grocery stores let them starve to death? Also has anyone ever purchased a lobster from the grocery stores just to keep as a pet and not eat?

I used to work in a store that sold them, and even steamed them. certain occasions we sold a lot more than regularly. they were not fed.

I used to work at Red Lobster and I don't think I ever saw those things being fed.....I HATED grabbing those buggers. Not because I was scared but because they are a pain in the as*!!

what would you feed a lobster? but i hope they do feed them while they are waiting to be sold or eatting at a resturant.. that would be inhumane not to feed them.. good question btw

I doubt their fed. Even if they were, their claws are closed together so it would be hard to sift through the gravel to find the food.
