Does anyone know what a glofish is? I just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on how to care for a glofish. I just got one today I think they are just zebra danios and I know those are schooling fish but they only had one left. As soon as they get a new shipment I will get two more. They are pricey though 8.99 a peice. He lives with a one cory catfish and one amano shrimp in a three gallon tank. How do you get them to glow in the dark.

The goldfish, Carassius auratus, was one of the earliest fish to be domesticated, and is still one of the most commonly kept aquarium fish and water gardens. A relatively small member of the carp family (which also includes the koi carp and the crucian carp), the goldfish is a domesticated version of a dark-gray/brown carp native to East Asia (first domesticated in China)[1] that was introduced to Europe in the late 17th century. The mutation that gave rise to the goldfish is also known from other cyprinid species, such as common carp and tench.

They are genetically modified zebra danios. Treat them just like you would a normal danio. They glow under a black light.

glo fish are danios that when in egg form, where injected with jelly fish pigment.

This is a new style of dying fishes that is more acceptable.

They really need a special lighting to make their colors really show, but they do have some pigment without it. They dont require anything special. Just like all fish, clean and clear water. 8.99 is way to much, but then again i get my fish at wholesale.

i wouldnt get more than 2, only as you have alot of fish for 3 gallons, make sure your filter is always clean.
