After reading information and talking to my vet about breeding my dog, I learned that a dog is fertile after she stops bleeding. However, I also heard that a dog is only receptive to a male when she is fertile. Now my dog is still bleeding slightly and yet she has been receptive to a male twice now. Is it possible that she is fertile even though she has not stopped bleeding completely?

I have a 2 year old Husky/German Sheperd mix male dog. He eats his food in a bowl. However, this morning, he took the bowl of food, to the stairs, and started eating while sitting on the stairs. I did not find that appropriate, and i wanted to change the position of the bowl by picking it up and keeping it in a secure location, because the bowl was likely to fall down on stairs. However, just when i picked up the bowl while my dog was eating, the dog VIOLENTLY BIT my hand. I got deep cuts, and required stitches on my wrists. How and why on earth did my pet behave so cruelly? I have been raising him for 2 years, and feel utterly let down because of this. He was well trained. did our training fall short somewhere?

I am starting a 100gallon saltwater aquarium and was wandering if i should have a uv steralizer. In the pet store they only have a filter not even a protean skimmer.

So I've had my guinea pig for almost a month now and I'm worried that he may not be happy. I spend as much time with him as I can and also give him floor time but for the most part all he does is stay in his igloo and lay down. Is he bored? The pet store lady said he has been by himself for a while but getting a him a friend might help. Am I being too overconcerned? I pictured him at least running around his cage, nibbling on his toys, or something! But he doesn't even do that. All he does it eat, sleep, and on rare occasions run around. I've only heard him wheek once. Do I need to get my boar a companion?

I have a leopard gecko, she is about a month old and the pet store said your supposed to use paper towel not substrate for the first few months until they get older. I'm going to take her out in a tiny box and clean her cage. can I put towels (like kitchen towels on the floor of the cage) I don't want to use paper towel because she might get burnt because I have a bottom heater.

He is on a good quality food but just dosnt seem to have an appetite, vet cant see anything wrong with him. He only gets treats or chews for training and sometimes turns them down. He could just be bored with the same food but dont want to create a fussy eater. He just wont eat any of his dinner other than green tripe.

after owning our bird for a little more than ten years everyone was under the assumstion that Charlie (our bird) was a male. Unitl last week when he or i should say, she started laying eggs. snd she has never been exposed to any other bird. So whats the deal and we have kept her on the same diet ever since we got her. so can someone please help me make sense of this.

Im 12 years old. And in about 2-3 weeks my parents are getting my cat (Oliver) declawed. I think this is VERY appropriate because he HATES the outdoors with a passion. And about 2 months ago, Oliver scratched me on the side of the eyeball causing hemridging..I could have very well lost my sight that day and I thank God I didn't.... Anyways, I think it's appropriate to declaw him....
What do you think?

I totally support the idea because my budgies are tamer and I dont have to worry about them drowning in the toilet or crashing into a window and they get excercise by climbing and playing with toys, but what do you think, do you love the idea or do you think it's bad?P.S you dont cut off the WHOLE wing. Just the feathers that are essential for flight.

It killed a cat a few months ago. It tried to kill a little dog when the owner allowed it to wandre onto our land (fortunately the little dog survived - nearly £1000 later) and it has killed and eaten numerous hedgehogs.

Yesterday she threw up twice. I looked into the vomit and I could see the dry food I feed her. This morning she ate her food, but she still hasn't gone to #2 bathroom. She normally goes bathroom soon after she eats. Should I be concerned?
