The kind of people who find it impossible to connect with another human on an emotional level

What kind of people care more about dogs than humans? People who are jaded by the actions of other humans. Dogs don't screw you over and happily greet you everyday no matter what else is going on in your life. While I personally do not put dogs before humans, there are always exceptions. Some humans aren't worth the poop that my dog takes every morning.

People who do not have many human friends. I am not only such a person, but I do admit I have an inherited mental disability(i.e. Autism). Many of my teachers and aides at my high school say that I am very smart dispite this severe impairment. I even am one of the top students in my classes! However, if I had a choice, I would be at home with my dogs Misty and Ikis at my side. Ikis may be blind, deaf, yappy, loud, and begging, but he likes me petting him, brushing him, and just talking to him. Misty may be aloof, indepedent, dog-aggresive(she and little Iky often get into fights although me and my Grandma reprimand Misty whenever she is caught in the act), and energetic, but she is loyal, protecting us during the night. Dogs and cats are easier for most autistic kids like me to relate to than people. PS: If anyone wants to know, Ikis is neutered and Misty is spayed. Both are mutts. And to Albert: Even to me, you are weird and ridiclulous. I do not like being rude, but you put down some of us by writting that 'people that are stupid care more about dogs than people' or something similar (I can read your answer just fine). All of us are different and some of us simply prefer animals to people as company.

Great question! I have my Golden laying next to me as I type this answer, BUT there really are people who treat their dogs better than they treat their own family. The will pamper their pets and treat their children bad. This is especially true of older people or those who do not yet have any kids. They will yell at a child but speak to an animal like it is a dying old woman. Ugh! And why are most extreme animal rights advocates & vegetarians also pro-choice???

However, with that being said, we should all treat each other well and also treat all animals as we would want them to treat us. Those who are cruel to animals are also cruel to humans.

Dogs accept people exactly the way they are. They don't care what you look like, how you dress, etc. They are always there for you which a lot of people aren't. You know, the going gets rough, a lot of people disappear. Dogs don't. They love you unconditionally.

I don't like dogs, but I hate people more so I would save a dog over a human.

If you take in a dog near death, and nurse him back to health, he will never bite you.
This is the principle difference between a dog and a human.

I like dogs but not more than humans. I think many animal lovers prefer animals to humans, which is the wrong way round, but at least that's better than gardeners who only love plants - such a low life form, it's weird!
