We found this bunny and i think it is dehydrated as his fur retracts back slowly. My husband was a vet tech and I'm an ER nurse and between us both, we give LR SQ fluids to our cat 3-4x times a week for his megacolon. I want to give this little one a chance but we don't want to take it to emergency vet being today is a Sunday, it's just not in our finances right now. I tried to give kitten milk through a bottle and the bunny is hardly taking in anything. I tried hay, but I'm afraid he is not quite weaned yet, he tries but not getting much. He is not touching the pellets at all. Thanks for your advice.

The kitten is a female, black, 6 weeks old, kinda fiesty, very curious, and kinda needy. The 2 choices are VIXEN (which we feel fits her personality better) and TRUFFLES (which feel is cuter).

I got a puppy about two weeks ago and she is very skinny. She eats her meals, drinks plenty of water, and does not have worms. I want to put a little more weight on her but I dont know how? Should I feed her something else? Right now she is eating dry puppy food. Should I give her can? Also I read that I can also give her puppy formula to have her get bigger. Is that true?

I have the Aqua Culture Starter 10 Kit It comes with the AQUA-Tech 5-15 Power Filter with EZ-Change Filter Cartridge. It was running fine until a few kids come over and decided to feed the fish (They were trying to be helpful) I think they dumped a handful or two in there. My black Molly died shortly after very bloated and rear fin stuck in the part of the filter that sucks up water. I didn't know how much food there was in the tank until this point (Probably an hour later). We got the fish out emptied the tank and cleaned the rocks because we don't have a rock cleaner. Reassembled everything but the filter is no longer running. Is there a way to fix this or should I get a new filter immediately so I can get the fish back in the tank? Also was it the filter or the food that killed my molly?

Yesterday my gecko had a pretty good shed except for the toes on her left foot. They looked swollen and red at the very tip and one was bleeding. When i picked her up to put her in a warm bath to soothe her toes, she seemed to make whistling sounds, supposedly from her nose. My mom said it sounded like a mouse. Her body language kind of said she was struggling or "huffing and puffing." Is this a gecko cry? Or does she have breathing problems?? Help would REALLY be appreciated!

please tell me the following:

1. what do you feed your turtles??
2. how often you feed them??
3. how much you feed them??
4. the size of your turtles??

i feel like i am feeding my turtles too much or too little because alot of times they would swim crazily up against the glass looking at me, even after i just fed them alot of pellets.

i have 2 RESs at about 5' each and it gets very annoying because they always beg for food and i have to cover the tank up with cloth so they stop swimming crazily against the glass.
i dont want to feed them too much all the time, nor do i want to cover the tank with cloth 24/7......

thank you

5 days ago I bought a 7 week old female kitten as a playmate for my 11 month old male cat. I followed all the guidelines about separation and gradual introduction. They've met face to face a good 10 or more times now - however, it always goes the same way.... my older cat pounces on the kitten as soon as he sees her, bites the front of her neck, and tries to wrestle. He will not leave her alone. There is no hissing, and he usually gets off her once she cries out. She hides under furniture, but I've seen her have a cheeky swipe at his tail when he's not looking, so I don't think she's too scared of him.

They usually last about an hour together before the older cat gets too boisterous, at which point he ignores her cries and gets too rough with her, so I take her away.

My question is - should I let it get to this point and try to keep them in the same room for as long as possible, or should I separate them after, say, half an hour before he gets too excited?

ok, we got our puppy at 8weeks old. we started cutting her nails shortly after with no problems. then about 3 months ago, we cut them again, and 2 of them bled a little. thankfully she didnt feel it, or at least didnt seem to. we didnt change the guage on the nail clipper, so i dont really know why it bled all of a sudden. we tried doing it again last month and again the first one we did bled so we stopped. she's completely black so its kinda hard to see where the quick is, but we didnt even cut down to the little groove that you can see in the nails, and what we did cut off was hardly 1/8" (the lowest setting on the clippers). her nails are pretty sharp and she's been tearing me open when she scratches, so i know they are longer than they used to be. today we bought new clippers, they have no guage tho so they worry me. we clipped them and only one bled. i feel so bad.

ok, i have 2 gerbils, who are brothers and they have grown up together. i've had them for about 6 months. one is dove colored (greyish white) and the other is black. the dove one has a marking around his eye that was not there before, and im not sure what it is. i don't know if it is either blood or dirt or what. they've never injured each other before, but they do play fight i think from time to time. he has red eyes, and it looks like a reddish brownish coloring is surrounding his right eye, but that color is not anywhere else on his body. there is no dirt in their cage and no other traces of blood in their cage. they are both moving around fine and he doesn't seem to know its there. what could this be?

Subject: TINY CHIHUAHUA FOUND WITH THROAT SLIT From: cnbservices@comcast.net (@comcast.net)
Date: 2007-06-14, 9:46PM PDT

Our loving, young pet Mimi, a very small, chi was murdered by a man named Frank on Tuesday afternoon. Frank took our little dog and slit her throat then threw her over his back fence. Thanks to the excellent, diligent work of the Novato Police Department, Marin County, Frank Garduno was arrested and is in jail with a over $100,000 bail. This man took the life of our family member, a dog that gave nothing but love to all that she met. She made our family laugh everyday with her antics. Her best friend was Ty the big black Great Dane, who is now moping around the house looking for his little friend. When I found my dog with her throat cut, ants crawling on her body, blood coming out of her ears, my belief in human kindness died. Who is this man, a Vietnam vet, dying from some disease, not on his meds, whatever reason, this is a sick person who does not belong in our society. He should be listed as a predator, just like sex offenders. Is any one safe anymore? GIVE THIS MAN THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE.

My 14 year old baby girl has been to the vet twice now and was prescribed Tapazole. The first dose was 1 mL twice daily in liquid. That was hard to get in her and she got diarrhea and was vomiting so much. The second visit I switched to the creme (0.5 mL-once a day) to rub in her ear. She is still vomiting at least twice a day, sometimes 3 times. I think it may be the medication. I heard that you can give cats Pepcid to help calm their tummy. How much would you give? She is so skinny. I plan to take her to the vet once more. Since she is 14, I can't invest thousands of dollars for iodine treatment or surgery because I have other expenses (i.e, new roofing etc.). Hope someone can help me.

I could let him out of the cage but he'd just take off and hide somewhere else like he's already done. He's hiding/sleeping in a box, in a cage. He has food and a little box. I don't know what to do with him or how to introduce him to my other 3.
How long do I leave him in the cage until hes more comfortable? He's been living outside for a year but he's friendly, he's not mean right now he's just scared and skittish. How long does this take.. Any suggestions?

I have tried several different kinds of pet food storage containers and have yet to find one that I like. So far I have tried the stackable storage bins by blitz (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441781987&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302025790&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023689&bmUID=1182728312968&itemNo=10&In=Dog&N=2025790&Ne=2) and one by rubbermaid I believe (http://www.petco.com/product/12461/Rubbermaid-Pets-Scoop-n-Store-Pet-Food-Storage.aspx). Neither met my expectations. Within days I had ants galore. Not good. The rubbermaid one looks good but the lid broke and no longer works. Didn't want to pay the money for a new one till I find one with good remarks. The only requirements that I have is that it can hold at least 40 pounds of dog food and be able to keep out unwanted pests.
