Frequently, though not always, yes! A Frenchy's large head is often too big to fit in the birth canal because of the small pelvic area. Your stud dog's size in comparison to the female dog can also be a factor. Research potentnal mates for your dog throughly before matings take place to reduce the chances of inheritable diseases along with the chances of a mandatory c-section being reduced. You and the female's owner are responsible for the puppies that are born. Both parents should be healthy, good natured, and (perhaps, only one needs this) have some kind of title. Obedience, conformation, tracking, agility, and rally are all places in the dog fancy world to recieve such titles. Research your dog's and the female's pedigrees. New puppy owners want the best.

I've heard that they frequently do, but you should have a vet check the female before breeding anyway. The vet can give you more details on the chances of a healthy birth for the particular dog.

Also, c-Section is needed most often if the male is much bigger than the female he mates with. This should be considered when choosing a mating pair.

Bitches from some breeding lines are what breeders call self -birthing or self-whelping which means that they need no help at all and will deliver the puppies completely by themself but it is quite common for a ***** to have trouble delivering the puppies due to te size of their heads and so will need to have the rest of their puppies delivered by cesaerian so go ahead with your breeding plans but keep a vet on call or book the ***** in to have a planned c-section.

The majority of French Bulldogs, and bully breeds in general, delivery their pups via c-section due in large part to the large heads and relatively small pelvic areas.

Yes, a veterinarian/animal surgeon once told me they do have to have a c-section. The puppies' heads are too large for the birth canal.
