Yes; a dog won't get ill from white rice, but it should not be a main source of food. Also, feeding just white rice with veggies is not balanced enough to be a good meal for dogs. If you're considering feeding "human" food to your dog, you should read up on RAW and BARF diets and discuss it with your vet to make sure your dog gets the proper nutrients and any supplements. In my opinion though, dog food is the best choice if RAW or BARF can not be done.

Hello
First I should warn you that you should not feed your dog JUST ANYTHING.
Here are some things to keep in mind while feeding your dog:
Feeding on Milk?
Milk is neither a balanced diet for dog nor it should be taken as a substitute for water. Over consumption of milk may even cause diarrhea.
Raw Eggs?
Consistent use of raw eggs may cause dermatitis.
Eating Raw Fish?
Raw fish may cause deficiency of vitamin thiamine in dog's body resulting in loss of appetite, abnormal posture, weakness, seizures and even death.
Table Scrap
This should be as much as 10 percent of the canine's daily diet.
Bones?
Small soft bones may choke the dog like a splinter.
Many world-famous Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and published Dog Care Experts universally agree any dog that eats commercial dog food is at a much higher risk of dying prematurely and by the time symptoms are noticeable, it's often too late to prevent an agonizing death except by lethal injection.
You should feed your dog with some home made recipes that actually help your dog., You can find more information here.

yes, once when my dog was sick and was throwing up, the vet had me feed her rice only the next day because it was easily digested. Now sometimes when I make rice, I mix in a little with her food for a little extra treat that is good for her. Brown rice is good too.

rice is just fiber. It is a great filler and wont hurt your dog. But remember a dog is a meat eating creature dont make a grain food its main source of nutrition

Not as a main diet. Sometimes if a dog has a stomach virus, one way to soothe it is to feed it a combination of boiled hamburger or chicken and rice.
