In the US there are two legit clubs..AKC & UKC (United Kennel Club)...In Canada there is the CKC ( Canadian Kennel Club)
There is no clubs in US/Canada that are better.
Clubs such as APR, CKC (Continental or Canine Kennel Club), ACA, etc are worthless registries made up by irresponsible breeders in order to make buyers think they are buying a registered purebred dog when they really aren't.Papers from such registries are worthless.

AKC papers don't make a Pedigreed Dog. For that you need Pedigree Papers along with AKC.
AKC is JUST a registry & they will paper litters unseen. Many a back yard breeder has AKC papers they can play with & make any dog a AKC registered dog.
The only thing that makes a Pedigree Dog is the Pedigree Papers. Which most back yard breeders don't have & can not get unless they are breeding Pedigreed Dogs.
I have seen lots & lots of AKC registered dogs that have so many visable faults that the dog should have been culled at birth.
All the dogs at the Westminister Dog Show are ALL Pedigreed. They also are registered members of AKC in order to compete in their events.
AKC papers mean nothing unless you are competing.

The AKC is a dog registry and sponsor of many dog events. No other club comes close to being as accurate nor as prolific a sponsor.

Another dog registery is "America's Pet Registery inc". They have almost the same amount of registered pedigree dogs that are show dogs. AKC will not show dogs registered with that registry. I have 3 Cavalier King Charles Spaniel whom are registered with that club and they are of show quality to the AKC Standard. I groom AKC Champion show Cavaliers for the show ring and have had them at my house with my dogs and they look exactly the same with the same temperment.
Here is their website...

Yes, there are indeed other organizations such as the akc. Though truth be told (and this is especially true of the akc & ckc) - the certificates are not worth the paper they're written on, as many non-purebred are registered with both. Keep in mind that documents can easily be forged - having "papers" on a dog means absolutely nothing.

Just think most pet shops have AKC registered dogs and it seems everyone on here is against Puppy mills but for teh most part everyone seems to be for AKC.
I personally think AKC is just out for the money they really don't care about teh breeding if they were why would they support puppy mill so much??
