I want to get a bird, a talking bird, but I need to know the prices. So,

1. What birds talk and have a somewhat big vocabulary?
2. What should I expects from the prices?
3.How much would a vet visit be and what should I expect? Also, how often should I take it?

I have asked recently about dogs with asthma. My new puppy, 5 1/2 months old, has been suffering a severe asthma attack for several days. He is under vet care, taking predneson, albuterol, clavamox (antibiotic) and perscription dog food. He is recovering from kennel cough and a bad case of pnemonia. We rescued him from the shelter 2 days before christmas. The pnemonia is better, but he is now in a bad asthma attack. Does anyone know anything that I can do to ease his breathing? I am so desperate, I cannot bare to watch him struggle like this. The most recent xray, the vet said, lungs look good, this is brought on by the pnemonia. I take him outside when he is having a real tough time, because the cold air seems to help, though this isn't good for a dog recovering from pnemonia. I have been all over www, and I can't find info. I sincerely need some help, If I can't get more help for him, I will be forced to put him down, I hate making him suffer this way. PLEASE HELP BAILEY

Just recently he has began to constantly lick my sheets, my bedspread and anything else he can ... its really annoying especially when he goes for my pillows. What can I do to stop him from doing this?

We have had Cuddles..AKA "Lil Bit" since she was 6 weeks old. She is now 4 1/2 months old and has now developed the habit of kneading and sucking on our hair while we sleep. She travels from room to room (unless I have locked her out!) and does the same thing to our daughters!! If we cannot break this habit, will she get sick or end up with some type of monsterous hairball???

I'm thinking about getting a dog that would need two 30 minute walks a day. Some weekends but not all weekends I go to stay at my dad's. M mum says that she would be too busy to walk the dog. Would the dog be alright without it's walks or should we get a dog walker in or should I take the dog to my dad's. He has a 5 year old Jack russel who is quite aggressive to other dogs but eventually gets used to them. Help me decide or think of another option!

How do you keep your 2 year old beagle/basset dog from ripping everything apart and from running away all the time and sleeping all over the furniture and going to the bathroom inside the house??? Today my puppy received shots (Corona, DHL-PPv, Giardia and Lyme Disease) and tonight he is extreamly aggressive and reacts with biting, which is something he has never done. Could this be due to the shots?

He eats poo almost everytime we go outside for a potty break. We live in a wooded area so he does his "buisness" in the woods. After that, he snniffs at something in there and starts eating it!! I'm guessing it's poo because his breath smells horrible, and his mouth is all black/brown! Please help me!!!!

I have 2 indoor cats. I do not let them out very often, and when I do it is only, for short periods of time when I feel like supervising their outdoor explorations.
Both cats are 14 years old. Both graze, however one of them, the first thing she does, when I let her outside, is head straight for the the grasses/plants/weeds to graze.
I feed them Iams, usually an adult and/or hairball control formula.
I only occasionally supplement that with various table scraps or a little bit of milk.
Also, I know some vegetarian food sources can be deadly for dogs. Are there any vegetarian foods that I should make sure to never let my cats have?

From what I've read from expert crab owners on previous crab questions, I have not a clue about hermit crabs!! We got it a couple days ago as a birthday present. There was a thin layer of small bark pieces, so I put some sand in from my sons sand box, and following the present bearers instructions, got milk bottle lids and filled them with water and hermit crab food. It's a very small tank, and has a larger shell for him.
He used to dig himself in the sand, and we'd pull him out and play with him. He lost one leg. He seemed to be very active until yesterday he just stopped moving really and dug himself in the corner of the tank and just starred out. Today I found him on top of his little water lid, almost hanging out of the shell. The shell seems too little for him. I've left him alone now, but he does 'cringe' when I drip water on him or something.
I've heard they can molt above ground, but not usually. He's just not moving and hanging out of the shell. I'm worried.

I have a new puppy (female) which I bought as a companion and friend for my other dog (male).
My male is such a sweet calm and friendly dog. I am now afraid that the female will corrupt the male into protecting her and make him aggressive.

I have many friend that have female dogs and them and my male have always got along famously but yesterday, the puppy was attacking my friends dog. This got my male upset and he snapped at my friends dog... He did not bite but you could tell he was protecting the puppy.

I never even thought of this and I am very worried that she will ruin his beautiful nature!!

Any suggestions?
