My chihuahua is now used to using the potty outside. Her breeder then told me today that it is too cold and he could die. How true is this? How cold is too cold to let a 3 pound puppy outside to pee?

that is a great question for your vet..,but how can you convince the puppy to go in the house when you have just trained it to go outside? You may have one confused puppy..a short time outside should be ok, just enough time to get the job done.

It doesn't take much for a small puppy with a short coat to get too cold in cold weather. If he's only going out for a couple of minutes ot potty that's ok but do not leave him outside. Yes, he could die or he could get a cold or pheumonia.
Chihuahua's need a nice warm bed in cold weather.INSIDE.

Listen to your breeder. Way too cold for a little dog with barely any body fat to keep her warm. You can set up a litter pan for a dog that size for the cold months. When Spring is here, put the pan outside for a few days, and then take away the pan and she will be on her way to completely being housebroken.

Too cold for a 3 month old pup to be outside. Buy him a crate, house train him and keep him inside.

To go outside and pee should be fine as long as she's not outside for very long. Those dogs don't hold heat very well being so tiny and hardly having any fur.

u will know if ur dog is too cold. it will have a cold nose and cold paws and will be acting differently to normal. there is no reason for you to let ur dog go to the toilet inside because its too cold. invest in a warm coat for ur dog. they work wonders!! if it is snowy where u live, also invest in some dog shoes, they will protect a small dog such as urs from catching a cold and getting sick!! i hope i was able to help!! =)

No, you can let the dog out to potty in freezing weather, Just don't leave it out longer that needed to finish the job.

Over exposure to the cold could make him sick, and if severe enough (long enough) yeah I'm sure it would kill him.
Just going out for a business call should be fine.

It is ok for a few minutes for her to releive herself but dont leave her out there. If you are really concerned get her a little dog jacket. Either way just be quick and she will be fine.

The dog should be fine as long you don't leave out there for very long and you don't leave the dog unattended.
