I think that chinchillas are cute fuzzy animals not evil little rodents. I just wanted to know what random people on the Internet think about them, fool. (friend is saying this)

He is six months old, we have been trying to use puppy pads. When he goes on the floor we put his nose in it, then immediately put him on the pad and make him stay until he either pees or for a certain length of time. He mostly pees on the floor, he will poop outside. I'm getting frustrated. It seems as soon as he gets off of the pad or in from being outdoors he pees.

I just bought a rat and a hamster within 2 days of each other. I'm trying to tame both of them so I was wondering which method works better- handeling them for long periods, a few times a day.....or handeling them for short periods, several times per day?

(thanks in advance for any answers but if you dont like rodents....dont bother answering just to tell me that)

All of my levels are good except for my PH which is 6.4 I had a problem with high PH (8.0) over a week ago and used PH decrease to help . I check my levels everyday and the 6.4 has stayed level for days now...also I did not drop it fast I did it gradually. I have a very sick goldfish with finrot, popeye and septicemia and a black moor with mouth fungus. I am treating with Maracyn2 and Melafix. I was wondering if I should us PH increase to try and get it up to 7.0 or if I should level it alone? My water out of the tap is 6.4, so unfortunatly water changes don't help here (with PH level ). I understand that keeping the water clean and healthy is the best thing I can do for the fish....what should I do about the 6.4? Also when should I start to see results from the meds? Can to many water changes be bad for sick fish? Thank you in advance for all your help

I have a pomeranian or so I was told it was pure bred. At 3months he was 8lbs now at 51/2 months, he's about 12-13lbs. He really looks like a german sherpard but a mini version. Of course he isn't or he'd be much bigger, but are there any way to tell what it can be mixed with?

I recently found a cat outside in my yard that didn't look like an outside cat. It's a long-haired persian that's been declawed. I've put an ad in the paper to find its owner and haven't heard anything. I called the local animal shelter and they were NOT helpful at al!!

How could I find out at no cost to me if this cat is microchipped?

I really want to find the owner because I'm sure they must be missing it, I don't mind taking care of it until I find it, but am coming up stumped!!

On Tuesday, I brought my dog home from the Spay/Neuter clinic, she has been fine since then. That is until today, she keeps kicking at the wound with her hind legs, what can I do? I put a bandage over it, but she is still kicking at it.

I have this 8 month old germin shephard she always has diarreah and looks horriably under weight, But she eats a full butter dish of dog food and at least half of a nother everyday. Her vet says she is ok and the diarreah is normal, But you can see all of her ribs and her tail bone, My other dog eats less and is healthy looking.
Is there anything that will help stop the diarreah and put weight on my puppy...

It is generally safer for a cat to be kept indoors rather than allow it to run wild outside. I know cats are independent and don't like to be told what to do. But, I'm sure some owners must take their pet pussy cats for walks on a leash. Am I right?
I've seen pictures of beautiful women walking domesticated big cats on a leash, but I've never seen anyone walking a pet house cat. Can this be done?

At first we thought it was submissive peeing and the vet said that she would hopefully grow out of it with age. It's still happening 6 months later and as she gets older there is more left behind. My boyfriend isn't cruel to her or anything, in fact he is working so hard to be overly sweet and we have started only allowing him to give her treats so she connects that with him and will hopefully stop. She does good for a day or so and then she'll have an accident for no apparent reason, they'll just be sitting on the couch, he'll go to pick her up and she'll start peeing. I am not sure what to do, the whole thing is extremely frustrating especially for my boyfriend. HELP!?!?!?

Hi, I have a cute lil' hamster named Butter Nut. Although she is cute I have two problems:
1.Whenever I open her cage to give her a quick scratch on the back or to give her food she runs and hides in her tube. I have tried to be quiet, but she just obviously doesn't like me.
2. She likes to bite. Although she doesnt draw blood it still hurt rather badly. I always wash my hands before I stick my hand in the cage. And if she doesn't run away at first she will bite then she will run away. Also the times that I can get her out she will bite my hands. I have also changed the soap that I use on my hands to see if she just liked the taste of the other soap, but needless to say she still bites. Just to give you more details I don't put any lotion or touch any of her food before I put my hand in her cage. Once again I think she just doesn't like me.

Please help I love Butter Nut very much, but I would not like her to be ignored due to her bad biting habbit.

while neither of us is in imminent danger of kicking the bucket, we are both getting on in years. I am alone in this world except for my cat and I want to know if there are facilities/agencies - whatever - who can help me ensure that she is not out in the street - or worse - if I die before her... I live in Brooklyn, NY if there are specific answers but all ideas are welcome, please... thanks
