if the mother is coming with them yes but not if they are taken from the mother. during the first 8 weeks of a puppies life the mother trains the pups with some behavior that is almost impossible for humans to train for. some people even take the puppy away at 6 weeks which is still too early. my aunt took away a puppy at 5 weeks not knowing and the dog is like the devil dog it has horrible manors and was obviously taken from the mom to early. definitely wait, it will make for a better dog in years to come.

Most are weaned at 6-8 weeks. This is when they are ready to eat solid food. The nurturing and availability of the mother is essential for emotional as well as physical growth and well being. 2 weeks is really too young. There is also the consideration of the nutrients of the mother's milk. Canned formulas come close but cannot replicate it. The first milk has as you may know colostrum which gives the pups passive immunity. I have a dog that was given away too young. He's great but there is this insecurity issue that has been with him since day one. I can't prove that being denied his dog mother is the cause of this behaviour, but it seems like a great possibility. Have a dog gone great year.

I'm hoping you're not asking if it's ok to separate a puppy from it's mother and two weeks old....if you are...the answer is NO! A puppy shouldn't even start being weened from it's mother until 3-4 weeks old and should not be separated until it's between 5 & 8 weeks old depending on the breed.

No, puppies are still nursing from their mom. 2 weeks is way too young. You should wait until they are at least 12 weeks old, and eating on their own, before you even consider selling or giving them away.

Only in extreme circumstances, as in, orphans. Even then if the pups can stay as a group until at least 8 weeks of age, they have a better chance of becoming well socialized dogs. Under any other circumstances, you are cheating the pups and new owners of a chancefor a well developed sociable life. If they have a living mother that has not rejected them, it is going to handicap them for the rest of their lives to deprive them of the early family unit.

Do you mean when they are just 2 weeks old, when they are just getting their eyes open, still depending on mama dog to provide the milk for them, when they do not have any teeth to eat dog food, when they cannot even go to the bathroom by themselves. If you do not want to take care of the puppies, find someone who will take mama and the pups and take care of them and find them a good home.

a puppy needs it's mother's milk for at least six weeks and should be eight weeks but at six it is so-so but never before that time because it will make their bones weak and will even stunt their growth. so do not take them from their mom. some puppy need people to care for them if the mom refuse to or if the mom dies but they need to go to the vet to be checked and get the right advice for nourishment. in some states it is against the law to take the young away from it's mom unless there is a law of it's survival.

Definately not. Puppies should stay with mum until at least 6 weeks old. They need to be fed by her - not milk and mush from a can. They also need this extra time with mum and siblings to socialise and learn what they can and can't do or get away with. Will be much better dogs if you allow this to happen naturally. Look at dogs in the wild - they live in packs. They need this not only to survive but become stronger, wiser animals. The call is yours but in my opinion don't do it yet

They should NOT leave their mother until at least 6 weeks of age. If you do so before that there is a good possibility they will die, not get the proper nutrience, and it could cause behaviour problems since they don't learn anything from their litter mates.
If the mother has died, or the puppy has been found as a stray, it is possible to ween them yourself, but I would only recommend that with strict vetrinary supervisation and lots of time...

8 weeks is the standard....
I would talk to your vet if you feel the puppies are ready to go as early at maybe 6 weeks, but not 2.
