On Tuesday, I brought my dog home from the Spay/Neuter clinic, she has been fine since then. That is until today, she keeps kicking at the wound with her hind legs, what can I do? I put a bandage over it, but she is still kicking at it.

Why is that a botched spay? As it heals it will itch. You should call your vet and ask what to do.. Has she opened it up? Is it bleeding? If not then don't worry, it itches! Pur some neosporin ointment on it several times a day and that willkeep it soft, help with the itch and also help it to heal faster.

Hello,
This may not be a botched Spay, it sounds like she is healing. Have you never had stitches? If you have then you know what she is feeling. If not, then the stitches are pulling on her and she itches because she is healing. Try Putting a little Neosporin Ointment on her incision, this should soften the stitches some and make her more comfortable plus it is an Anti-biotic.

I would however take her to the Vet and be sure she is ok. He will probably tell you the same thing, use Neosporine to easy the discomfort.

Sounds like her stitches might be a little to tight... Probably feeling a little uncomfortable. Does not mean the spay has been botched.. Stitches should be able to come out Friday but take her for a little check up anyway

Good Luck!!

the stitches are really drawing tighter and it is uncomfortable. call the clinic and tell them how she is acting and they may want to see her or they may tell you to put something on it that will help soften it up just enough to stop bothering her. it is also new to her and it hurts so she is trying to get rid of that feeling. so call them as soon as you can.

I would bandage both her stomach and her back feet (so she won't do as much damage). Incisions will start to itch as the heal, and she is probably just trying to scratch it.
