We have a male cockatiel. We got him at 4 weeks old (he was not taken care of). I got him to eat from my hand etc. He really took up with my son but now hates all of us! He will not let us pet him and tries to chase us down to bite us. If we even walk near his cage he will come running trying to bite. He will not even let my son near him anymore. He talks to his mirror (I have tried taking it away) all the time and seems to think it is another bird. When I take it away hopeing his behavior will improve it doesnt. Then he just squawks really loud and doesn't stop. He used to be so friendly. Will he ever get better again? My kids are now afraid of him and I'm thinking of giving him away. Thanks for any help

I have a 7+ year-old veiltail Black Moor. I keep it's tank clean and vaccumed regularly. There is some sort of growth on his tail. About an inch from the base, right where the tail begins to fan out into its four different parts, there is a white "bubble." It seems to be made of some sort of membrane and be filled with water or air, and is about a centimeter in diameter. It pokes out the top a little bit, but hangs beneath his tail more. There's two little black dots on the bottom, almost like markings. It sprang up almost over night, and does not seem to be causing him any discomfort or hampering his movement.

Has anyone heard of this before? I put fungus treatment in his water, just in case, but it is not fuzzy like fungus at all. I know it is not ich or finrot. Please help! I will appreciate any real answers.

My cat came home with a cone on his head yesterday. He has stitches near his ear. He will definitely scratch it if I take the cone off. I've been feeding him by hand. I've tried to give him water by spoon, small cup, and by hand. I don't know if he's not thirsty or frustrated. Do you have any suggestions about giving him water?

I have a 7 year old and 1 year old fixed male cats, who are best buddies. I want to get another one, but I'm not sure if I should get another male or a female. I know they'll accept whoever I bring home, but was just wondering if the sex made a difference.

i know they eat veggies but will they eat meat as well? and would they kill another fish to eat them? anytime i find a dead and eaten fish in my tank it is in the early morning so it happened-- i assume- over night and the only fish that i can figure that would "hunt" at night is the pleco. on the other hand they are usually a newer addition to the tank so it could be they die of the stress of a new tank and just get eaten during the night. the most "aggressive" fish i have in there are 2 barbs-one regular tiger and one green. do they change when the lights go out? they seem fine during the day. just wondering if i should throw a bit of steak in there at night to satisfy whoever is REALLY hungry?? and wondering if that pleco is maybe tired of being a vegetarian....

I have a 15 yr.old niece and she is asking me to help her find a chihuahua pup, I have 2 chi's myself!! My dilema is in the past her record w/having pets is not so great, so I am concearned for the puppy she may get, She wants a chi because all her friends have one so once the fad is over what happens to the dog? I feel bad because she is coming to me for help, but on the other hand I almost don't want to be responsible for putting a pup in her enviroment. Any suggestions are welcome. I know first hand owning a chi is like having a child, there small and pretty helpless, I am torn on what to do....thanks

My relatives live in a neighborhood where houses are so close together they share the same tiny yard. The house across from theirs has a pit bull and the owners sometimes let it out without a leash. So far there has been no problem, as apparently they only let it out at night when no one else is out. But is still worries me as the neighborhood is filled with kids, including my relatives. Even though there has not yet been an incident, do I still have the right to call any kind of authorities or animal control and ask them to tell the dog's owners to make sure it is on a leash when outside? Especially since it is a state-owned housing project.

i have booked my 6 month border collie into obedience classes, to be honest he is a very well behaved pup, no real problems with him but just thought some training would be very helpful, i have 3 children and the trainer has said that they would be welcome to come along, i want them involved as much as possible but am a bit concerned them being present will distract alfie because he loves them to bits, is it a good idea to take them with me or should i take alfie on my own. any thoughts from anyone.

I hate knitting, it is so lame and girly, but I have noticed how my gerbil holds an almond and it has given me a good idea. I was just wondering if this was possible, and if so, HOW.

Is it better to let your dog graise (eat whenever it gets hungry) or to eat once a day I have heard opinions going both ways

why do people not clean up after their dogs ?i get really annoyed at people who let their dogs crap in the street and don't bother to clean it up!its not pleasant to get home and find dog crap on your shoes or on your childs buggy wheels.why don't they tie a bag to the dogs leash before going out then there is no excuse for not cleaning it up.i have seen many people letting their dogs have a crap in the street then walking off and leaving it.how would they like it if i did a crap on the street then left it there for people to tread in?i am not saying all dog owners are like this but please people clean up after your dogs!
