No, I don't think it's weird. Like many others have said, a dog is a part of the family. With as much as my dog gives to me, the loyalty, the affection, the love, the snuggling, the entertainment, the respect, etc. I think I'd be a fool not to love my dog. Pets make our lives richer and more enjoyable in so many ways, to give them our love seems to me to be the least that we can do to repay them.

No, it's not weird. I love my dogs too, just not the way some people do. I love my dogs for what they are, dogs, not people. They are an integral part of what I do and how i live my life, but, they are dogs. And they respect me for it.

Why would it be, think about all the elderly people that doesn't have any one but their dogs or any pets in general that's all they have and they do grow attached to them and even love them after all that's all they have so no it is not weird for people to say they love their pets!

Nope. I love mine to death. They are my "girls" and thats how my family refer to them to. They are the "girls" to everyone and are treated for the most part like family, but we do realize that they are dogs and if need be they will be treated like dogs. But we still love them!
