can you honestly say a backyard breeder puts the profits back into their pups (of course not) i thank those of you who are out there that dont consider every breeder as a back yard breeder some of us as yall call back yard breeders arent exactly that

Back yard breeders can do all of that. I still feel you are an il educated breeder. You seem to have lots to defend because if you were a good breeder you would not be so worried about being labled a back yard breeder.

The fact that you hesitated to contact the vet tells me that you have BYB written all over you even if you do help pull the puppies. BYB's pull puppies too because that puppy means money and if they lose it they lose money. You need to do some more research on breeding kiddo.

Let me ask you then. Do you do health tests? Do you allow a years rest between litters? Do you show? Do you breed for temprement? Do you breed for Conformation? Do your puppies go with a non breeding contract? Do you line breed? Do you register your puppies? Do you have a kennel name? Do you have the money saved up to an emergency C-Section? Do you have more than one litter a year?

Ten puppies are way too much for the mother to feed. I suggest you weigh them daily to make sure they all gain weight and top them of with a home made formula. For every cup of milk add a tbsp of vegitable oil and an egg yolk. Strain it and give each puppy a mesured amount every two hours. Normally a litter of four the mother can feed properly, with five you are pushing it. That is why I am glad Shiba's only ever have 2-4.

Good for you. I'm glad there are some responsible breeders in the world. Sorry for those people who judged you before they knew what kind of breeder you are. Good luck and keep up the good work if you are going to continue to breed them. I would recommend actually fixing your dogs eventually so they dont get cancer, but if you continue to breed keep doing it they way you are doing it.

this isn't really a question so i wont give an answer lol. i think that it is wonderful that you are a responsible animal owner and aren't in it for the money often times you see people who mistreat animals and then they have no intention of giving back to the mother and pups. god bless you and keep up the good work you have every right to be proud whoever had no faith in you before were obviously fools take care

Unless you are indeed a registered breed, some will always assume that you are a BYB. It looks like you know what you are doing so why not go that extra step and become an official breeder?

glad to hear that your pups are all healthy lil chit-lens lol. sorry thats what i called my pit/chow mix when he was a puppy.. well i never caught your last post, so what kind of dog did you breed? my friend just had pups born like a couple of months ago and it was his dogs first litter so i did a good bit of helping. and helped place them in loving homes. but strangely one of his pups had 6 toes weird huh? i think it might have been cause they were mix breed but if the neighbor pit wasnt running around the streets my friends dog Layla wouldnt have gotten knocked up. but hey stuff happens and all of his puppys ( 10) survived and got loving homes. and i hope yours does too so good luck, you have your hands full

what do you want? an applause?? if you are the one who decides to breed the dog it is your responsibility to get those dogs looked after. just because you say you get them dewormed does not mean you should be congratulated. that should be expected.
