i'm also looking in to a toy fox terrier? are they any good?

i have rat terriers and drive a semi truck the dogs go with me everywhere. when home for any length of time i have to take them for a ride,because they are used to traveling.we also have started a new breed we call rat hounds(rat terrier/ dachshund) they are small mellow dogs most of the time

i work at a pet store, and i advice u not to get a medium sized dog [ eg:cockerspaniel,schzrs,poodles..]
terriers are perfect, but u`ll have to know what kind, jack russell terrier are the most active but the cause the biggest mess AND they love biting stuff. Toy Dogs are great for you.
Chihuahuas, Silky terriers, Yorkshire terriers, mini pinchers[they love jumping tho], shi tzu.

Look into Boston Terriers. They have lots of energy, are usually around 20 pounds, and are so adorable!!!! Or check your local rescue/shelter for a small mixed breed that has some kind of terrier in it!

I would say a pug or a jack russel terrier (they are called parson russel now i think) When you decide on a breed that you think you may like go to the pet store and buy a book specifically about that breed and read it front to back before you truly decide.Also think of needy pets at your local shelter,small dogs are there also.Try petfinder.com

I would recommend very strongly either a miniature schnauzer or a miniature poodle, they are easy to pick up, can easily live in an apartment, and are very energetic. I also suggest you check online with your local humane society,SPCA, or animal shelter, because you will be giving a sweet dog another chance at a happy and loving home.

A yorkshire terrier is a good apartment dog, very lively and smart and very affectionate. They have fine hair that while long is easy to care for.

You will just adore a yorkie!! Great for small homes or apt and condo's. They are very loyal little pets. My little guy sleeps in a playpen at night and is very well potty trained at allmost 6 mnths, I also heard you can train them to go on the puppy pads or a doggie litter box! They are also easy to cary and take with you if you need to leave your apt for a longer period of time. My yorkie is very energetic but yet is very calm when needs to be! Good luck whatever breed you deside.

I would recommend perhaps the havanese, border terrier, or miniature schnauzer. All of these don't shed too much and the havanese doesn't shed at all. They are all prone to barking, they're all lively, bouncy, and spunky, and both the miniature schnauzer and the havanese need lots of grooming. They are all small enough to pick up. Do your research on each breed.

The most energetic dog I know of is the " Jack Russell Terrier ", maybe a little too energetic... They are cute, small, and HYPER..
If you can afford it, try a Mini-Pin, they are a ball of fire, small, and really cute.
